Mephisto Genetics Trying DWC... Again

I don't know what it could be honestly, my first thought is that the water is too hot. Do you know what the temps are? If not exactly when you put your hand and or finger in the water is it warm?
The water is warm, but my tent is in the mid 70s is that too much then? How can I lower the water temp

That is what I would think, and ice is your friend. Also is your air pump inside your tent? If so you want to put as much distance between your pump and your stone, reason being is those pumps get HOT and pump super heated air into your rez. I have mine all the way outside my greenhouse about 20 ft away and in the cool shed that is attached to my greenhouse.

How much ice should i put in it? And my pump is outside of the tent

If that is not an option, ice is your friend. Make up some ziplock baggies full of water and put them in the freezer, drop one in and see how long it keeps the water cool. Keep in mind that the ice is going to make the water level rise

No I can't right now but I can pick something up. What if I out a cup or two of ice in it would that hurt it since its just a few ice cubes?

Nope that would be fine, just try to guesstimate as best you can how much water you are putting back in via ice. The volume that it raises will be approx. the volume it will be when melted.

I put a small handful if ice in there, it already melted so obviously my temps are high. How do solve the issue of not being able to constantly check the temps and adding ice constantly besides more ventilation?

Insulate the bucket, cool the air line down more, get a water chiller. I would get a can of great stuff spray foam and some sort of felt type material(heck you could probably use an old sheet or something) make a "basket" if you will of the material bigger than the bucket so that you have about a half inch of space between the bucket and the material and then spray foam the crap out of it to fill the gap. Basically making a cooler out of your bucket, also you could get a cooler that is already done, like a Gatorade cooler, one of the orange ones that you see on the sidelines at sporting events and such and use that for your bucket

Woke up this morning to the same thing that happened last time I lost a seed. Pics below, @derek420colorado. And @HotBunz what am I doing wrong, and can I salvage it? I'm not in the mood to lose another seed, is it salvageable in Dwc or at least soil?
Top looks good

The root is brown and shriveled.

First and foremost.....FILL THAT DARN NETPOT! You can't have light making it's way into your bucket. Also that net pot it freaking huge! That poor little plants roots had to fight and shove through a mile of hydroton before it got to open water. Now I know my experience is limited to only 6 hydro grows but I only use HTG Supply Rhizocore net pot/bucket tops. My tap root is in the bucket by day 2. Also while there are some people that make it work as a newbie and not knowing what your tap water is either go pick up a cheap 50GPD RO/Di filter($70) or use RO water from the store. Don't risk a grow with unknown water problem. Start with a clean slate and it will be one thing to rule out. At this point you just need enough to fill your bucket and maybe an extra gallon to top up any evaporation. Once things get rolling and she starts burning through a gallon or two of water a day a RO/DI filter will pay for itself in 1 grow.

As for bucket temps I know I have said it before but my buckets run into the low 80's at the start of my grows. Right now my bucket is 74 degrees. I use Hydroquard.

Here is the underside of a Rhizocore net pot/bucket top and the tap root of my current FastBuds BlackBerry. In this picture the plant was 3 days from sprout. The tap root grows straight down and the feed roots will branch off from it and work their way through the hydroton....

So to sum it up.....

* Replace and refill your bucket with RO water from the store.
*FILL THE NET POT ALL THE WAY!
* Don't worry so much about bucket temps right now unless they much into the 80's.
