Mephisto Genetics Trying DWC... Again

This makes me happy! No quitting allowed, just learning! Im soo glad you stuck with it!! I plan on trying my hand at DWC at some point this summer/fall and this is encouraging! You rock @MissUniverse!

Seeeeeee, she is now on track and those roots look really good now. If you cant afford more hydroton and are ok with sending me an address via PM I can send you some, I have a buuuuuuuuunch, and it is like @HotBunz said it is really important that you not let light in your rez.

You will not have to worry about nutes till about 2 weeks old, so in about another week. Just keep posting pictures and we will help on that. Make sure you tag me with the @ and my name(when I log on I usually have about 100 notifications and I scan for the ones that have me tagged in them and respond to them first)

Honestly I thought you had chunked it and it didn't live, I am supppper happy to see that the little girl is spewing roots like nobodies business, now its just time to watch her go crazy. : ) : )
I appreciate ti all, ill make sure to tag you. I don't feel comfortable giving out my address, but i think i can swing the $10 to get more. maybe a different net while im at it too.
I figured i was going to let it run its course and if it died then it would die. I think I also had the bucket too filled with water which was causing issues. I'll get more photos tonight, but the root system is already starting to grow.
Is the best bet for refilling the bucket a small water pump? If so i can work on saving up for one of those.

i had almost figured it had died and i was going to give up but i gave it a couple days and it turned around. I appreciate the encouragement!
I'm also glad you stuck with it and didn't give up. You'll be filled with excitement once she really starts to take off.
thanks, appreciated very much. i hope not to mess it up too bad. i figure one good run and i will be good to not grow for a little bit... although I know ill end up growing and growing and growing. and if one plant can get me 100g then i can just do a few runs then wait a bit.

I understand about the address for sure I just don't ever like seein someone being held back by a little item like hydroton : ), and You don't have to worry or mess with a pump to fill your bucket just get a milk jug or any container really and fill it with your distilled water and later on your water and nutes. Then just take your net lid and scoot it over a little and pour your water in until you have your desired level. If you want to take water out of the bucket, the easiest thing I think to do is get another bucket and put some nice clean fresh water in it as a place to set your netpot and plant while you take a little water out. Later it will be useful about half way through the grow you need to clean the whole bucket out real good. If you don't have another bucket just make a little stand for your netpot to sit on where it doesn't disturb the roots. and dip some water out of your bucket really quick, but you do not want to have your roots exposed like that for very long at all, like under 30 seconds if possible(but that should be enough time to dip some water out of your bucket really quick) Again this is going to be over 100 grams, if not I will consider myself a failure at life lol. I have not seen someone who has had the guidance of folks like myself and @HotBunz not pull 100 grams. So we need lots of pictures and as you can tell we all are super glad that the little girl pulled through

Day 13. Time for nutes? I let the resivour get a bit low so the top roots dried out a bit I think.

I would start her on a 50PPM feed. I know we have talked about this before but you have to get that net pot filled. Looking these last pictures almost the whole top row is exposed this will cause you trouble I promise. I know you had said you were working with budget restraints and I can understand that trust me. One solution is that most Dollar Stores have bags of small decorative river stones. A couple three bags of those will solve the issue. Other than that the plant looks good, roots look great. Get that water level up to the bottom of the net pot.

i need to get a PPM meter for that don't I? And ok, ill get some decorative river stones, that sounds like its something right in my budget. Thank you! Your help is much appreciated. its just somewhat hard to do some of this care taking because of the pain issues i have.

If you don't have a ppm meter I would start with 1/8th recommended dose. One of the best things about dwc is that if there is an issue, correcting it takes much less time than in soil. If you don't see it green up with 1/8th in a day or so then up it, you can always go up. It is way harder to go down.
