Transdermal Magnesium Guinea-pig thread.

Thanks Musturd

Have you tried boiling the roots and stems in Mg Oil?

Mg oil is a bit misleading, The premixed Mg Cloride is a brine not very oily. Most folks are Mg saturating water and mixing that. If you are going to make your own Mg oil what base would you use Olive? In this case you would be better off extracting in olive then mixing in Mg. Water does not extract well. Oil/fat or Alcohol/Glycerin are best.

Coconut is great for topical use stable and easy to seperate from water. Cook roots in coconut and water, when cooled and seperated this block can be the base for several different recipes, for deep joint and arthritis pain adding canna oil and or Mg can help alot.

Always a work in progress, starting to experiment with different essential oils, currently Almond and Avacado. I like to make small batches with small changes. Do to much at once and its hard to gauge results from one to the other.

Hi Mustard,

Do you think that most of the desirable compounds in the roots are water soluble or oil soluble?

Oil for sure, and coconut especially good. From all I have read water is not very effective.

So much reading in the stickies this might stir your interest enough to dig in....

Making rubs is a bit of a scavenger hunt, Carrot Seed, Rosehip Seed and Geranium oils are on the list. Being in the city I enjoy the hunt rather than shop online.

Have you ever checked out Hemp-Eaze?

It lists its ingredients as Hemp Root, Comfrey, Burdock, Lavender, Lobelia, Hyssop, Myrrh Gum, Sage, and California Bay.

Might be interesting to try some of these as additives

Yea yea we know Hemp-eze. I consider them the Budwieser of root rubs, I am but a small local home brewer. Still able to test and make changes looking for the winning recipe.

Hello,

Hey, good analysis that "budwiser" quote. Exactly how we feel about it. And may you find "the" recipe.

Peace

I have to say you all are on to something. Have taken a few flake baths and use the gel.

Notice less pain and better motion etc. Easing-- in shoulders, knees and, surprisingly, some in my lower back. Have had shoulder and back surgery.

Will update. And discuss more in detail.
