Autoflowers have obviously come on leaps and bounds in recent years and there now seems to be quite a lot out there which can rival the best photoperiods in terms of potency. What I want to know, in your opinion, and from experience, is what you think the best autoflowers are in regards to potency, and to a lesser extent yield?

Next year I am looking to set up a guerrilla greenhouse/polytunnel outdoors in the wild which is big enough to accommodate at least 5-6 autos, which will be planted in mid May. I then plan on letting them fight it out in a clash of the titans to see which one them comes out on top. I want to know what you think are the top 5 autos on the market as I only want to be selecting the strongest auto strains available to feature in this. So far the 5 I am looking to run in the tunnel are...

- Blow Mind auto by Sweet Seeds
- Blue Kush auto by Dinafem
- Gorilla Glue auto by Fast Buds
- Alien vs Triangle auto by Mephisto Genetics
- AutoColorado Cookies by Dutch Passion

I welcome any suggestions and recommendations for strongest strains and I would appreciate it if you could list your top 5 autos. I might add a few more strains to the list above for the polytunnel next year, depending on your recommendations...?

Cheers

English Archer! Hey man, great you could make it!

Let me start by hitting you up with max rep for coming to the AFN party!

As for the strains...though I have only grown out DP's Colorado Cookies from your list, all 5 companies are very, very well spoken of. So the cookies...this was the smallest of my 4 auto strains I did from DP this summer outdoors. She wasn't very resilient to cold, but that wont be a problem for you. Really a fantastic smoke though! Based on my experience from the DP autos this summer, if RH wont be too high I would run the Auto Utimate. Great smoke and off the chart yields. If you think humidity might be a challenge, I would definitely run the Brooklyn Sunrise over the Cookies.

I am going to hail in a couple of fellows @trailanimal @pop22

there are so many, 5 is not even a realistic representation! I could list 25 easily

Hahaha aint that the truth!! Honestly archer I am surprised that you don't have G-13 labs Auto Blue in that selection with your success with it gorilla this season! If you ask me I would say that any auto from DP, Dinafem, Sweet, Mephisto or Bomb would fit the high potency request!

Hey man, thanks for reps! I hope all is going well with you and you are sitting back and relaxing with the fruits of this year's labour now...

One reason I won't be running the G13 auto Blueberry again is because next year I will be running several autos/photos that are blueberry crosses, plus I just think next year I am going to change things up for variation. Hardly any strains that I did this year will be done next year, just because I like to keep experimenting. There's something about trying and finding new strains that fascinates me... and what with so many strains now out there, and with with ever-increasing quality, potency, yield etc - I just can't see myself running the same stuff consistently year on year anymore, bar the odd few strains. But that's just me.

Autos will comprise the bulk of next year's work, about 75% roughly, as I prefer to dry outdoors and I find it very easy and effective to dry outdoors in boxes under a tarp during the summer, but not so much at all during autumn/fall when photoperiods would usually finish... hence why I'm going all out with autos. I'm going to get a bunch of them in the polytunnel and then have several other auto plots, each containing about 6-9 plants. I will be making a return to the cornfield as well for an auto only grow, across 2 different spots.

In regards to the growhouse humidity, yeah, that would potentially be an issue because of overnight dew from the huge temp swings between day and night. 30C days usually give way to 15C nights, still causing morning dew on everything, although this isn't always the case. And it also depends on the rainfall pattern. Last reason we had a drought from mid July through to mid September so it was very, very dry with above average temps and hardly any dew. Clocked temps as high as 36-37C several times in the shade as well during late July / early August, which would be problematic with a growhouse. The main reason for the polytunnel is to boost growth in the first 3-4 weeks, so I could easily remove the greenhouse/polytunnel cover in the last few weeks before harvest to increase airflow and prevent mould. Not to mention the July/August temps might be too high to leave on anyway. I'll just take off the cover come July and drape a sheet of chicken wire around the perimeter frame to keep animals off.

I am pretty much settled on the 5 autos I initially listed above, but I want to add another 2 to the list to bring it up to 7. I should make a poll to see haha!

oops, the og is not auto, Sweet Seeds Green Poison is awesome also

Hello mate, I ran the Green Poison FV photo last year, although I wasn't overly blown away by it so not sure how much better a GP auto version would be. I think I am going to run their Red Poison auto though which is derived from the Green Poison and a Pakistani Kush. Sweet Trainwreck is also on the list along with Devil Cream, Cream Mandarine XL, Big Devil XL, Mohan Ram, Blow Mind and their Crystal Candy auto. They'll all go into one Sweet Seeds auto plot, except the Blow Mind which is probably going to be inside the growhouse/polytunnel.

picking and choosing too damn hard, all those righteous strains out there, if a strain likes your style(setup) it's going to grow good and more than likely be top shelf smoke
