Does anyone have any experience with Canna soils?
I looked at their Terra Pro and Terra Pro Plus and they looked quite different.
The Pro has a dark dirt texture with bits of perlite and looks black while the Pro Plus is a lot lighter and the texture is very different, with spongy lumps of fibrous material and brownish gray, fibrous materials and not much visible perlite.
Their website says that the Pro Plus has a lime charge for pH stability and some added minerals and chelates, but that shouldn't account for its appearance being so different.
I noticed also that the Pro Plus drains exceptionally well and doesn't seem to compact over time into a more solid mass.
Does anyone have any opinion about these soils for growing pot?
Thanks for any advice.

Hi Surfer Joe!

I haven't used their soils, but use their coco! I would suggest that the pro plus is better for you needs. Better draining, better buffered. Better quality.

Mr Ganjamoto was using their soil (i can only imagine he bought the best) I'll see if i can dig out the thread that he used canna soil on!

All the best
Blue ^_^

Edit: Mr Ganjamoto was using canna bio terra

Here's the thread

you can laugh at me giving him some advice half way through

Salutations Royal BLUE* and Surfer Joe...

Canna soils are pretty good quality...

I do indeed use the Canna Bio Terra soil it is very similar in consistency to the Canna Terra Professional plus with slight variances in the pH range and the amount of fertiliser and a free colony of fungus gnats usually...

Both the bio terra and the pro plus are very light airy mixes which allow for great root development better than the plain canna terra professional...

The terra professional is a light mix type soil with perlite for drainage and is a heavier denser soil that seems to hold more water than the two other canna soils... which if you like to go a galivanting here and there a few days at a time may be an advantage for you... with a need generally for less frequent waterings...

All three soils have been utilised for starting seedlings off in with no adverse "too hot" effects...

My advice between the pro and the pro plus is definitely pro plus for the root development alone...

Toodle pip....

:tiphat:

ps. The advice was much appreciated...

Thanks. I do like the look of the Pro Plus, but it doesn't look like the black dirt type of soil I am used to.
I went on the theory that a Dutch company named Canna, dedicated to growing mj, wouldn't sell a crap soil for mj.
But the Terra Pro and the Pro Plus look so different and drain water differently, so is there even an ideal soil for growing mj?

Canadian sphagnum peat moss with high amount of perlite no vermiculite and with lime in it for ph is as good as it gets for growing mj with leds. With hps the same but with perlite to hold water because hps creates more heat
