A question, I am a novice grower and just completed a TD grow. Using Bysen led lights, Aurora Organic + Aurora nuts. 2 20l airpots. Grow went without major crises. My yield was ~ 56g per plant. Disappointing. Plus the buds were not hard.

I'm just starting with this so my question is what is a typical yield for the setup I have. I was hoping for 4-6 oz each with good buds.

Are my expectations unrealistic?

Thanks.

yes unrealistic ...... my experience with led light was also a little yield of 40 grams per plant ........ i had ufo grow lights and also had a 1000w led grow light and all they are good for in my opinion is vegging the plants no good for flower ....... if your using led's to save money on electricity then use them for the veg and then use hps lights for the flower . I always thought that the lumens of the light was important and led's usually have 14-23000 lumens were as a 600w hps has like 88000 so for me i choose hps and always get nice hard buds but with the led's i got fluffy buds . So if you want a big yield hps is the way !! :) .......... but thats just me :) ........... you should look into plasma grow lights from ( gavita pro ) thay save money on electricty plus you can use just one light to grow up to 90 plants . also yield depends on the auto look up and buy ( auto mazar ) i got a yield of 5oz from 1 plant growin in deep water culture 16 liter bin :)

Probably, from what I've seen most of the people growing soil, organic, etc end up in the sub 100 gram range until they work out their system. I went the opposite direction from what you've chosen, DWC, MH/HPS, and Advanced Nutrients, even with a bunch of newbie issues I still averaged 200 grams a plant. I'm currently doing the same run, only without the issues hoping to get near 300 a plant.

I can't say about your lights because I have no experience with them. But I can't imagine growing in anything other than DWC, with Advanced nutrients ph perfect line it's almost fool proof if you follow the instructions on the bottle, the only real issue is the need for RO water and calmag.

I would say that for your first grow, it might be a little unrealistic, however, I have seen it done. Although, about the LEDs and the bud density, I have done two grows, with 4 diferente strains and all were very thick, even compared with the HPS grows that I have done, but then again all LEDs are not created equal, its not just about wattage, it has to do with other factos (wavelength, lenses, chipsets, etc...) Check out the grow in my sig to see some nice reselts, or there are loads of others on the site that are cranking out great results, Hazy, Tang, Seymour Buds, Rob wars, Dub V just to name a few of the people I have seen in the DP section. Hopefully as you tweak your skills you'll turn those expectations very realistic. Loads of great info especially in the new growers section on how to really tweak your set up for autos. Best of luck and Welcome to the DP Section and to AFN!!!!

a lot depends on the amount of available light. In general, more light will mean more yield. But much depends on what the rate determining factor is on the grow . Experience is your best friend in that respect, gaining a knowledge of how that plant is responding. The 2 most common mistakes we say from less experienced growers are the tendency to over-water the plants (soil growers) and the tendency to over-feed the plants (all growers). Too much water/feed does not allow roots to optimise their growth, and this will eventually limit the entire plant potential.

On the other hand, 2 ounces per plant is nothing to be ashamed of if you are new to growing, you will only get better and better!
