Day 41
Merry Christmas AFN Family! Wishing you all a blessed holiday with your families and loved ones...
So, the 5x5 has yet to be erected-life got in the way! So the girls are suffering for a little while longer than I meant for them. I hope to maybe get that all done tonight after round 1 of Christmas today and before round 2 at the in-laws tomorrow. Just finished giving them a feeding and plucking a couple of leaves here and there. Not too many, just anything that was really in the way... Speaking of feeding, I really gotta step it up. Pots were pretty damn light! I was supposed to water them last night and just couldn’t get myself to do it! I’ve attached some pics from this morning.

Day 43
So I have my 5x5 set up (finally) and I finished wiring my new light kit earlier tonight. So not quite everything is complete yet. I still have to setup and run my fan and filter. For now I just have a few fans on circulating air in the tent. I’m thinking that I’ll have the rest set up by Monday night. Speaking of the new light, I’ve read people’s reactions when they first fire them up and always thought to myself “easy... relax...” I always thought it was just sheer overreaction; until I plugged mine in... WOW!!! Blew me away! Went half blind from across the room! I had to step out to buy a small screwdriver to dial it down a bit via the internal dimmer on the driver (screw- type dimmer on meanwell driver- not overly scientific but it works!) I think I’ll need to pick up some kinda of a meter so I can dial in the actual output/power draw. Right now I dimmed by eye, and intentionally went a tad soft since it’s their first night under it. I plan to crank it up in a few increments over the next 2 days. As well I still need to supercrop two of them. Anyways, I gotta get going but I’ll put up a pic of how things are looking right now.

well that looks most excellent. Plants are looking green and the tent is pristine! Looks like a nice dimension for 4 nice autos. Room to work and plant growth too.

Thanks. Truth be told, I’m really considering adding two more of something in there. There’s enough room... speaking of plants having room to grow, I think I’d like to try and add some kind of support bars halfway up the tent across the 3 walls that don’t have the main zipper door so I can tie onto whenever needed. It would make opening up the plants a lot easier. More importantly I gotta get my fan/filter up and running!

Day 46
Ok. Had a problem today. I believe I caught it before any real harm was done... I came home after work today only to find my plants absolutely bone dry!!! I watered them Friday night. Saturday morning I woke up a little later than I should have and didn’t have time to do anything except get my ass to work! Right after work I had a big family function to attend and brought a change of clothes so I could go directly from work to the event. Fast forward to 2am, I had to be at work for 7am and had a half hr drive to get home from my sister’s place. Snow was coming down and my sister lives 20 minutes closer to my work than I do so I decided to sleep over and head to work from there in the morning forgetting about my plants... Anyways, I got home from work and the pots felt a little heavier than air!!! They had dried right out. Leaves were quite sad and pointing straight down on my tallest plant in the airpot. The other 3 that are in the millennium soils coco grow bags were weren’t quite as sad although one was pretty close. I took them right out of the tent to water and inspect them so while I had them out they each received a pretty decent defoliation session and cleaned up any lowers that I felt wouldn’t really amount to much down the road. I also supercropped the main cola on the tallest one. Anxious to see how that one bounces back! The light is currently 21-24 inches above (depending on the plant) and I think I’m going to keep it around there. If I do drop it down further I’ll only drop it down another few inches. This new light is quite intense. I don’t have a meter of any kind to see how much power it’s drawing right now but I have dimmed it down a bit from the max... I have noticed the early onset of a bit of frost. Not much yet, but glad to see that it has begun! I had hoped for these to be larger at this point, but considering the low temperatures they endured in the 2x4 I’m not all that surprised. I was thinking that the yield would probably be a bit disappointing but after a close inspection earlier today I’m thinking things will be ok. I believe that they will need the entire month of January and possibly an extra week/maybe a little longer if I stagger the harvest and just take the top half’s first. When I considered the fact that they have an entire month to build on what’s there I kinda think that a conservative estimate will be 1lb dried off the 4. I won’t complain if it turns out to be much more but I’m alright if it hits that mark. I’ve attached a few pics from a few hrs ago...
