New Grower Thiers a Hairyman in the cupboard/SourCrack/TyroneSpecial

ok, sersi had a flush , in 7.2 out 6.1 so ph is low, acidic , now the question is ,if i continue to flush with 7.2 will this raise the soil ph level or drag it down even more? i going to add lime to the top soil but that wont kick in for a while , going to have to add baking soda to feeds also to raise the water ph as i understand it?, given her a foiliar feed as suggested, waiting for a while then going to give her a light feed then let her sit until dry, thanks for input guys

burnt tip on gamora was on top leaf,s, but she had nothing to feed, she is also starting to show signs of leaf discoloration so perhaps connected to low soil ph

better add my idea of a flush was about 6 litrers she in a 6 liter pot

might just get bottled ph water at 7.4-8 and use that instead

AnywaysAnyways I got me own fire, anyone wish ta comment on me last post ;) in this thread

I got some pretty bad cal and mag deficiency mid grow. I was in 11 litre pots so flushed with 10 litres of water straight from the tap then another couple of litres each with new feed and extra calmag ph'd to 6.5 but my soil ph wasnt too far out.
I know the lime will take a while to kick in but maybe you can nurse her through with foliar feeds until the ph picks up.
Sorry im not much help but im sure someone with more experience will chip in soon

Lots of help pal, reassurance helps, i think its more total lock out than just calmag, the quickest way to up the pH is my concern really, since I already soaked her, if more of the same helps then I would go for it, but I ain't sure, yea foilar feeds are on the cards for a few days

Everything you're planning is about everything you could do, short of like a tub soak/leech
but I don't think it's come to that...I've only heard of it as a last resort. I think you're on track :)

cheers trapper, was it post 7 get an accurate 8 :) steaming its way from Hong Kong as we type ,slow boat from china comes true, won't put another bean in soil tiil its here, thanks for the confirmation, and me wings fallen off, but I living on that prayer for now.

Hey Hairy sorry to hear the woes continue. Will be posting my own woes later on my journal (but not sure they are woes). lol

What are you using to measure pH. Is it a meter? If so, is it calibrated. I have a pretty good meter, but am finding that I need to calibrate every fortnight.

If youre putting in 7.2 and run off is 6.1,take the difference from the lower number = 5.0ph.
As you know its only a rough guide, but you need to flush more until you get to your required ph.
Thats what i would do if they were my plants.
GL mate.

he he ducky ime guessing your woes are that they outgrowing ya space and taking over the carbon filter and ya woried ya ain't enough mason jars to cope lmao, yes its calibrated and tested on everything in the house and fridge I always had it just never wanted ta flush to run off and take a decision based on that, but needs must, live and learn, I don't trust this run off method still ,but I was surprised at the drop and it makes it easyer for next grow, will be adding lime to soil at week 4, learning curve it is pal, a dedicated soil pH Meter is the way to go and its ordered and being shipped, the best copy of an accurate 8 Hong Kong makes lol, I find that the liquid Meter I have is temp sensitive, don't trust it still I see it as reliably inaccurate in its accurate results lol ,look forward to ya post,my girls are enjoying the first sleep in 35 days while they dry off.

Ya know I had it at 6 but your right if you use that equation>>> If your runoff pH is higher than your starting (water) pH, use this equation to determine your soil pH:*
Soil pH = Runoff pH + Difference

If your runoff pH is lower than your starting pH, us this equation:
Soil pH = Runoff pH - Difference.

For example, say your the starting pH of your solution before it goes in is 6.5 and the pH of your runoff is 7.0. The difference is +0.5, so using the above equation:
Soil pH = 7.0 + 0.5*
Soil pH = 7.5

If your starting pH is 6.5 and your runoff is 6.0, your difference is -0.5 and using the above equation:
Soil pH = 6.0 - 0.5
Soil pH = 5.5
So its 5 FCK I already just gave them a light feed , I going to a have to let them dry out and water to run off, check and flush again?
