New Grower The Quest of a Newbie grower.

Hello all thank you and welcome this is my quest to grow quality medicine and work on my skills as a grower I am a complete novice with a lot of web trolling knowledge (and we know everything we hear on the net is truth.) I hope to expand my skill through communication here from anyone willing to do so I will be active with this thread and keep updates on the soon to start grow all input is welcome thanks again.


THE GROW
1. (equipment)

5x5 mylar growtent
300watt cob led x2 (gogreenleds.com)
6" inline fan 440cfm x2 (Vantech amazon package)
charcoal filter (not sure of size)
7 gallon smartpots x5
Thermometer/hydrometer x2 (one is wireless so I can see temp/RH from my lazyboy
dr.meter ph pen and tds
outlet timer for lights
and a small fan
( might be picking up a portable a/c this weekend 100$ off CL I don't have climate control in my house for summer time and don't wanna run into problems when temps start to climb and I'm flowering any thoughts on portable a/c in a growtent?) is there any other equipment I might find myself needing?

2. (medium)

medium is soil 50/50 OF (ocean forest) and HF (happy frog)
* I heard somewhere OF was to hot for new plant and to cut it with happy frog50/50...also is there any need add more perlite in this? I have heard mixed thoughts as it already has it mixed in

3. (Nutrients)

General hydroponics flora series gro , bloom and micro
also go the performance pack wich includes Flora Blend, Liquid KoolBloom, FloraKleen, Rapid Start and Floralicious Plus (also bought some cal mag and PH up & down)
*just wanted something simple and proven for my first go round and suggestions on easy to use or better nutrients would be awesome or any other products I might find myself needing on this grow


4. (genetics)

Placed an order to herbies on the 19th order included (mind you I have no idea about genetics I read review and looked at spec/pics to choose)

so there you have it that's mostly where I'm at I have so many questions and will ask them as I go in hopes of finding great knowledge on this great resource we have thanks to all for past and future info I will post pictures of set up and equipment as soon as I can

Very nice set up.. You should do well.. You came to the right place and it looks like you put a lot of thought into things.. Ask all the questions you want and you will get an answer.. For some great nutrient ideas go read tangs nutrient directions in the soil and nutrient section.. His information is great and many use his schedules for great yields.. Good luck

Thanks Ripper just set it up and got everything rolling not to long ago doing some temp tests in the tent with ventilation and such wanna get everything dialed in before I start germ got these recently and they are burning a hole in my pocket...

thanks for the replies guys ya was thinking of running 4 ladies for now with that stand and ac in there cut my 5x5 down to a 4x5 been trying to research the 2 strains as far as height and size (White Widow xxl and Girl scout cookies) what would you guys do?

on a side note temp tests went well after venting tent into my basement. It was 70f in the room and only 77f in the Tent for 12hrs (need to find a way manage my negative pressure) can I leave one of the vents on the bottom open all the time I'm worried about light or do I have to blow air into the tent to manage the negative pressure?

For the intake run some ducting it will help and put some panty hose on the end of the ducting make sure you put at least a 180 degree bend in the ducting to keep unwanted light leaks..

oh totally just slaped myself on the forehead lol ya just run it out one of the 6" vent holes with ducting and it will intake air from there wow so simple I assume shorter the better and just make sure like you said have a 180. great I love it smoking one in your honor ty
