New Grower The Plants of The Ape

Apedate: Day 60...

I have not updated lately because I was keeping an eye on things. As you know my first girl, Tina pulled the ole' Hermie Munster on me and the other day I noticed what looked like a seed pod and sure enough... I got me some grandbabies.

After Louise hit just shy of 21" tall she all but stopped growing. I was wondering if that was normal or due to her going into seed production. So, anyway we took four lower branches of buds and put them in the drying tent and from them, we have gotten 14g of totally ass-kicking smoke. I mean WoW! These are mostly pop-corn with a decent top nugget from each branch that is very sticky and extremely dense. I could have easily let her go for another two weeks, but I didn't want any more of her power going into seed production. As of right now, I am the proud grandparent of 15 Amnesia Haze Regs.

So, as my first grow started out on cruise control it kind of went south on me and how. I'm chalking it up as a win/win. I made it through my first grow without killing everything including my cat. And I inadvertently become a hobby-breeder in the process. Looking like I'm going to end up with 35g in total. I'll slow cure a few nugs for toking on, but most of it will be turned into Green Dragon Tincture.

Louise after her Charle Brown Christmas Tree trim job. This picture doesn't do her nugs any justice as they are quite frosty. I really see how the practice of some smart LST could really help those lower under-buds realize their full potential.

By no means, a perfect grow nor a fully potentialized one, but I could not be any happier with the product that I have to date. I can only get better, and I will. I am already on my second grow with the wife involved as we are in the 2L fun-grow and I plan on getting right back into my bigger 2G pots that are coming and going with a 4 strain Hempy Bucket grow that I will prep and drop sometime next week. A much bigger tent has been added to the mix as the other one will be scrubbed down and turned into the veg tent.

Being in a wheelchair has been my biggest obstacle to working with tents? It is hard for me to get as up in their personal space and seeing things that need attention. We're working on turning a whole room into a grow room next with me being able to wheel around all sides of the grow beds being the most important thing.

I am fully involved and devoted to spending the rest of my days to growing these magical plants.

Congratulations @GrowillaGorilla on completing your first grow, have a slap my man :slap: ... great growing and just unlucky to get a lady boy on your first outing. Your be smashing it out the park on the next.

Looking forward to seeing your upgrades. Just an idea, have you thought about low thin table's with wheels that could fit a couple of plants on. You could then slide each table out of the space as needed and be able to get both sides.

i was growing a couple of years before i dare do a journal.first 9 months i didnt weigh a harvest i measured them in joints, and i didnt get more than 10 joints a plant.then something clicked and it got a lot easier without me realizing it.im still crap but keep it between the hedges most times.sometimes im surprized by a seed now and again, but no big deal really.
rotation running perpetual i like as harvests dont need to be spectacular.and we can afford the odd boo boo or hiccup along the way,as the next harvest could be only 2,3 weeks away.
i think ive seen a few grows with plant dollies maybe F.N. or Eyes on Fire ?
a harvest is a harvest it dont matter how many grams, enjoy it for what it is.....that can be many things
great job and more to come:pass:
keep it up
:pighug:
Thanks, Archie. Ya, I only weigh things because I have a damn scale and my OCD with numbers. I was that kid that shook the hell outta my Christmas presents, ripping holes in them, whatever I needed to do to find out.

The fact that I grew something I have wanted to do for years, and the wife is already getting relief is ALL that matters to me. Now to turn most of it into a tincture. I'll save a few of my sexy nugs for the "Bowling League" I just started. With my quadriplegic ass hands, if I even attempted to roll a jay the weed-police would have me arrested on charges of abuse.

I do like to count, so when I see a bud I can tell you how many strikes that's going to get me, bowling. But, rolling a joint? It just seems, natural. And those roaches... It's not lost on a bowler what picking up a spare could mean. Roaches look like big fat "Spares" when I see one.

Perpetual is what I'm aiming for. I like the sound of a harvest every few weeks or so. I mainly want to get better in my schedules, note taking, and seeing problems with a diagnose/remedy ready to go. It'll come over time.

Thanks, Slater.
I hear that you never forget your first Lady-Boy and mines name was Tina and Tina was a man...

Tables on wheels are exactly what we are looking at. Two of them in the room will easily accommodate six flowering at once. Which is far more than enough. We will be turning the master into the grow room so we will have the bathroom for on spot water and a nice corner shower that will be turned into a nursery/cloning area over time.

Big fun ahead...

Thanks for that rep love!

Fan @GrowillaGorilla nice harvest! Ducks about the seeds. Be careful with them, they may have inherited the hermie gene. They also may not have, and since they came from 2 fem plants in pretty sure all 15 of those seeds should be fem also.
Thank ya, FreeFlow.

Heather asked me if they could end up being Hermies and I said I was not sure. I didn't realize they could all be fem, though. So, that could be another plus, but damn what if that grow one day becomes the "Hermie-Munster Show" I would be a Drag-Queen Raging Lilly!

Yea but what if that lot gives you 10 beautiful full female plants and 5 hermies, you'll never know. I'm sure you're set on seed for a while, label those puppies and forget about them until you get to feeling nostalgic ;)

P.s. forgot to mention...

I have a local growbro who got the pheno of fruitylicious that I have been searching for. It reeks of berries and is frosty as hell. Gonna take some pics whenever i find some time and pic up a few cuts... so to show you what kind of surprises she's holding.

I must have ran through a good 6 or 6 beans man finally kept the last 2 knowing it wasn't the pheno I was looking for. I gave him like 5 beans and that bastard pulled it lol.

The dark citys are another one that's hiding some awesome phenos. I'm going to do some pheno hunting with it next. Now that I found the fruitylicious pheno I've been looking for lol.

Hope all is well on your side bro, excited to see what you pack these tents with next. I'm trying to do less photos and more autos these days, the genetics that are being put into auto are impressive and yields are damn near identical.

Sorry to ramble... I'm stoned lol

Exactly. I feel this as a win/win grow. Not perfectly grown by any means, but absolutely awesome for me. Louise came in like a Blue Light Special from K-Mart. And hit me up with a discount. "Here my man, you and I both know... you fucked this shit up, so here little dude, take these freebie tokens ON US!"

We have already decided to make these seeds our first Photo grow someday. Call it "Rude Pauls Drag Race..."

I really need to be reading up more on the Pheno game. So all reading required links can be dropped all over my wall.

My main focus will always be devoted to the Auto, but I would love to set up a Monster Photo Grow on my first go at it. Like six strains. I could only imagine the hell that could be had. I'll do that a year or two down the road.
