So today I pressed the last of our bubblehash, the #3 hash, from the 160 micron bag.
We processed less than half of the de-seeded material batch, and by the end of it, I think we did ok
For anyone interested, here's the process we used for pressing.
1) dry the hash thoroughly,
2) break down the hash into small chunks, the lower the grade the easier it crumbles. Grades #1 and #2 stick together pretty well.
Here's how it looked at that stage.
3) place on clingfilm, use tweezers to remove any little hairs or contaminants that will probably have blown in there.
4) crumble it down further, lower grades I would recommend misting with a little alcohol, oil or water to help it bind together. (not necessary for the higher grades)
5) wrap in clingfilm, and make it into the size/shape you would like baring in mind that when you press it, it will flatten a lot
6) wrap your clingfilm package in tinfoil.
7) Wrap that package in paper, newspaper, or parcel paper. We used a big brown envelope.
8) wet the envelope thoroughly
9) Place in oven on a low heat
10) When the water has evaporated from the outside of the package - 5-10 minutes (check frequently) remove and unwrap leaving solely the clingfilm package
11) Take a bottle , wine bottle , or we used a 1litre beer bottle (filled with warm water)
12) roll it over the package applying as much pressure as you can
13) Wrap it again and place in the oven
14) repeat removal and rolling process
15) Whilst the package is still warm, pop it in the freezer for 10 minutes
Done
Here are a few pictures of the #2 end product
