Mephisto Genetics The On-going Mephisto farm thread!

Thanks for keeping us updated with your super interesting program, even have a very interesting guest in the house every now and then, stay cool!

You're very welcome, thanks for the comment.
Recent guests have been Jorge and karma. It's great to have some very knowledgeable people stop by, to catch up and chat and to use as a sounding board or hash out ideas and plans for the future. A fresh set of eyes can often be the key to overcoming a problem.

So we are very greatful to say the least.
Cheers

turd hash small.jpgkief hash small s.jpg

Tonight, I was able to 'polish a turd' so to speak :)
Left over piece of the same hash as shown on the previous page, just rolled, flattened and rerolled between my hands, It's mighty oily :)
Then I've being trying to get the macro photos down on my new camera, but struggling slightly, shown is the lightly pressed kief hash.

Whilst we're on the subject of hash, when the new room is finished we plan to rent a pair of bubble hash washing machines, Bubbleator xl's in order to process all the trim from the first year.. yikes.

Wishing everyone a cool Sunday,
Cheers, mitch

Just a little update from the farm, We've been busy boys, the new room took a bit of a backseat for a few days, as we had a little window to do some hash making!

This 50 litre barrel represents a years worth of de-seeded/powdered buds, nearly 13 kg in total. It couldn't be anymore compressed or full :)

With the aid of a rented bubbleator xl, and a set of 90 litre bubble bags, we set to work, and here's some of the progress pictures.

Bag #2

Some of bag 2's product

25 micron bag - looks a bit like a hash planet seen from a high altitude :)

We managed to get done just under half the barrel in 2 days, so the remainder will have to wait until the next window of oppurtunity.

So today I did a little more work in the new mephisto room. Looking a bit UFO like!

Thanks mate, appreciated.
The hash is now dry and we are in the process of pressing it.
We've been using the parabolic reflectors for several years, Personally I like them a lot. Positives are: First and foremost they are cheap. They cover a nice area with an even spread of light, and the heat is dissipated well, this enables you to get the light darn close.
The negative is, you don't get a huge amount of penetration, which for smaller to medium sized Auto's is no problem. And if you grow to concentrate the most buds to be at canopy level, again that limiting factor can be worked around.
We have had nice results both in tents and an open room configuration.
Are they the best shades in the world.. no!, but I rate them :)

Yeah it looks like the light would cover double the normal area. I have to get a hood soon (I have one that I made myself) and have been looking at these (or ones similar) Heat is not a real problem for me right now as my grow room is in my outside building and its winter.

The shade itself is 100cm diameter, in a 120cm tent it's great, I would say it will effectively cover about 130cm. Hope that helps. Mitch

So some progress!
fans and ducting hooked up, I lengthened the fan power cords.
We laid floor secure flooring, and did a walkway around the outskirts of the room. (this is an inbetween room leading to the main flower room)
Ballasts and contactor are mounted.
Really we just need to do the raised floor sections , and give everything a good clean down and we're good to go with some plants in there!
