Mephisto Genetics The On-going Mephisto farm thread!

So a little update:

Tonight we put in to germ a lot of our own feminised photoperiod beans for this years non-seeded side of our outdoor work. We plan to put them outside Mid to late May in raised beds.
But also in the next couple of days I'm going to pop some batches of Autos for outdoor, It's our testing, I may make a few regular seeds.. I'll decide closer to the time.
So we have begun to clear the area for my greenhouses, We are excavating a few feets worth of banking to give us some more space, and it will also act to hide the greenhouses (a little)

They should go up pretty quickly this year, the majority of the thinking and build process is taken care of what we learnt last season.

Also on another note, we borrowed a pollinator, or tumbler recently. We've kept all of our de-seeded trim seperate by strain.
After de-seeding, over our glass table, all contents get carded into a tupperware tub, and look like this:

The material was placed in the freezer for 24 hours, then after 5 minutes in the pollinator came out like this:

I must say the ease of the process is amazing compared to making bubblehash, I processed A LOT of trim in a short time. It's very nice to supercharge a joint. I am thinking of making/getting some screens to clean the kief in future, I think it would be worthwhile :)

Cheers!

I didn't think you guys had access to the machinery for excavations. Looking very good. Is the rebuild primarily for location reasons (Stealth), or improving the greenhouse design and lighting? May I ask how far it is from the bank to the tree line?

Awesome idea with the tumbler. Bubble hash is a nightmare that scales in horror with quantity. Final product looks fantastic. How does the trim look afterwards (Much trics left?). Tumbling seems much more convenient than other dry sift methods I have seen.

Enjoy the sunshine and spring on the farm

No access to plant machinery, but two pick-axes, shovels and rakes and a few hours here and there makes a difference. :)
There was a small pond that we have filled in with debris, it was very shallow so no wildlife in it.

There's a fence about 15m up, however beyond that is woodland that I believe nobody owns, we investigated it last year for guerrilla spots but it wasn't necessary to use it.

Our old location was much more stealth, however it was just over the property line to which someone did own (we didn't know this when building them, we were shown the area and told it was ours to use). Excavating a metre or so of banking means that the greenhouse won't be visible from the track. We could put up screening and so forth but I think that would make it more obvious and curious to people.

we did some experimentation with the tumbler, running the material for different lengths of times.
we did a trial using crushed up pure buds, and there were some trichs still visible after spinning for 10 minutes but you reach a point where you would be getting more contaminants through than trichomes.
with the de-seeded material it is so fine and worked to begin with that its very hard to see the trichomes on any material fragments by eye.

When we make bubble there are only 4 useful grades for us with the varieties and material we are using, 45/73/90/120, the rest is only good for edibles.
So the return is only really about 7%.
The tumbler return was more like 8-9% however it's not as high a quality.
I can process 500g worth of material by bubble in a day, but tumbling you could do 4 times that amount very easily and cleanly. So it's swings and roundabouts as to what is best.

Cheers :)

Nice hash my friend. The picture of the tub of Kif looks like its pretty clean. The color is nice and grey.

Could you throw the Kif into ice water and run it through the bubble bags instead of getting a bunch of new screens? I don't know if that's worthwhile but just a thought.

great job!

can ya post a pic of the tumbler

that's some good looking hash :slap:

providing the kief isn't pressed in any way *i believe* it can be run through bags, it's a test I could try in the future. Really it's time that's the important factor, we don't have oodles of it. I think having the kief as a starting point would be great. I'm going to get the screens anyway and have a play. I've watched bubble man a lot and been reading a lot. Really good hash is an artform, which we will get better at over time, the guy we take it too is amazing, he can take a look at it without us telling him anything, and say what we did wrong and give us a tip of something else to do/not to the next time around. Thanks anyway.

Sorry mate we just rented it for a day and I didn't take a photo, it was the pollinator p-150 should you want to check it out.

Next time I'll take a picture.
p.s further back in this thread I spoke of pressing hash and mentioned using the oven, I retract that, guys please don't do it.. You risk burning your hash.
If it won't press with a little heat (from hands or from a wine/beer bottle filled with hot water. Then it's probably not worth trying. You can add a little water to help it stick whilst working it, but once it's dry again it will be pretty brittle still.
We are learning each time :)

De-seedin' hands :)

Howdi-ho folks!
we are hoping to have two greenhouses completed by the end of next week, I'll be sure to take some photos along the way.

Just a wee bit of progress, greenhouse #1 is 80% there!
should house around 120 plants when complete.

Absolutely Amazing Projekt Guys. U really Live my Dream. As a genetic freak and Hobby Breeder i can only Dream of a Project like this. Keep up the good Work and when u Release some Strains get at me as i always Search new Strains on the Market for Critical Grow Tests. Big up for all that Hard Work!!!
