The Definitive Colloidal Silver Tutorial

Frustrating!! Hope the new crop works better for you!! If the seeds you started with were fem there must be a way with the strain... Maybe some just need STS but that stuff is scary!!! Good luck Bob:)

they were regs and did reverse with c.s. , its doubtful sts would do anything different other then burn/stress the plants

im leaning towards overdoing the c.s. , cres as well as others i trust have all said spraying too often with sts can lead to sterile pollen , so now im left thinking the same holds true when using c.s , i know twice a day has never failed me , but im wondering if once a day would be best ?

gunna have to give it a try n see i guess

peace

edit , there are only 2 things different this time ,,,,,,

1: a strain im not experienced with

2: sprayed 4 times daily which is twice as much as ive ever done before

cant be anything else , its one of those 2 things

I only spray once a day, always have... But I'm a newbie LOL I also went back to the Tiresias mist bottle a couple days ago to control my spraying better. It was mainly due to the sucky spray bottle I bought not being able to make a fine mist but the drenched plant didn't look happy either. I hope it all works out for you Bob!

i too use a small bottle , i find its easier to get close to the plants branches n leaves without half of the spray going all over the place and wasted in the air

i think your good only spraying once a day , the reason i sprayed twice a day was not remembering when the leaves take in water better , im getting old and forgetting more n more as each day passes , so i figured id just spray at lights on and lights off , lights on doesnt hurt my plants as i only breed under flourescent lighting , they dont burn like they would under a MH or HPS

have a look at my pics on page 3 , thats what spraying twice a day did , i am going to give a proven strain a go at once a day though , just so i know

Hey Bob getting ready to head to work but was thinking about something in the shower.

Does pot size really effect the overall size of the plant?

The reason I ask is I would like to grow two small plants under fluorescent or small LED and just turn one and pollinate the other eliminating the need for the whole change one and pollinate the bottom of the production plant, if this makes sense to you.

It would just be easier to have one breeding program going and one main plant flowering for my use. What I don't want is three monster plants so soil in the breeding ones would be great if they could be kept small... Much of this is genetic too but I keep reading that if they are grown in small pots the plants will be small as well.

If what I am thinking is true what pot size would you suggest for a plant around a foot, again in general because of genetic variables?

Thanks Bob! Hope you have a great day! Off to my 11 hour shift... Thank God for Cannabis :help:

yes pot size makes a difference , its something ive tested many many times and actually just did a harvest not even a month ago of 40 plants , 20 in 1 gallon pots and 20 in 3 gallon , the biggest 1 gallon potted plants didnt quite yield what the smallest 3 gallon potted plants did , all the same strain/fems i made myself and all sprouted at the same time , it was a test to see if any possible repotting stress was worth it compaired to leaving them in smaller pots , they also were fine in the 1 gallon and didnt stress , they just didnt thrive like the 3 gallon plants

i wouldnt advise intentionally useing small pots when breeding , the stress of being root bound is still stress

edit, sorry , i cant advise anything for growing 1 foot plants , ive never intentionally done that , well actually , people say a wide pot grows wide plants , a tall pot grows tall plants , i always choose pots that are both wide and tall , right from the small ones to whatever i pot up to

edit 2 , the 40 im talking about were photo plants , i never transplant autos , grow em in med-to big pots right from day 1

Thanks for the input Bob! I will keep going as I have been. In actuality I suppose it would be one more plant to worry about. I just don't know what I am going to do about this LST... It's been a real pain this time :) Still can't figure out how to go about the SCROG in this garden... Back to the drawing board!

Too Late to Start Reversal?

Hey b0b,
Just started my second year of growing and will start making fems. Just read through this entire thread for the second time.
Growing out lots of OD gear for Northern Lats.
This GG#2 auto pheno popped up, is it to late to start reversing with CS? I am guessing it is, but not positive. Will start tonight if it is not too late.

its late ate to start, but maybe someone can answer if they've had balls produced late with a late start. I don't see why it couldn't happen.

Also, today was day two on a spraying of auto purple kush that showed pistils yesterday. She has had 3 sprays (aiming for 3x daily) with homemade 16ppm cs (amber colored). No burning on the plant and it was soaked every time with the spray. Hoping its strong enough to flip it. If so that's awesome with minimal damage to the plant unlike the premade stuff which killed a lot of bud sites that ended up getting trimmed off to save energy for the healthy pollen sacs that are forming.

id say too late

all though you could reverse it and collect pollin for other plants

but id say dont bother

you really should spray at first sign of sex

Thanks b0b, yea I was 99% sure it was to late, should have read this thread again in the last week or so.
This getting old sure ain't for sissies. Losing my memory big time. Once I learn by doing, I am able to retain the knowledge though. So much to learn and do, but I love all aspects of Cannabis cultivation.

I did just now started spraying CS on a nice looking early indie dom GG#2 that did just show sex.
I will be attempting to reverse some more early OD genetics, and some indoor photos.
More just 'practicing' right now until I can serious about growing out numbers and doing some real pheno selection.

Thanks as always.

Peace.
