Hi pal I have grown with just hps a mix of hps and led and led by themselves your 400w hps is not ideal but you can do a great job its more of a flower light but I've used it for veg as well .I have found that starting them in a solo cup them potting them up once they are established that may be why there slightly behind but your doing a good job pal also a small oscillating fan over them will help

Thank you I have noticed on the 400w. My LEDs didn't make it and so used it. I think I will solo cup then transplant next time. Its been a fun learning experience. How much water should I be using.

What do you mean to much?... Money or power? If to much power it's probably cause the plants are small or just not resistant to wind yet. A tower fan on low and osculating should be fine. Some tower fans also have a wind mode which makes the air non constant. But if it's to strong I'd just keep it away a distance for now on low osculating just to have the air move around. Once the plants get larger you'll be able to have that fan on high blowing 24-7... I usually do a small breeze during the first month and a half of veg then when I get close to flower a couple weeks or so then I'll start turning up the power and when they flower they really get sturdy.


Tower fans are one of the better ones to use imo because it covers a large area low to high. So beneath the canopy the canopy and above the canopy all get nice air flow and it definitely helps reduce the risk of bugs. Having a clip on fan or two above the canopy under the lights is also good for keeping the top of the canopy cool but won't really work well for keeping the plants moving and keeping bugs off said plants. The clip on fans can work for smaller vegging plants though.

Just enough water for 10-15% runoff when slowly pouring is all.. not much at all needed but try to do a few heavy run offs during the grow to keep salt buildup to a minimum.

Looks good a little bit of stretch but it looks like they'll be fine that trunk will thicken up in no time.. I'd add a small amount of perlite over the top of the soil if you have any but that's not some dire need. A small clip on fan would be fine for that plant for the next couple of weeks and after then she should be fine to handle the tower fan on low.

Good job pal you will see a growth explotion in the next couple off weeks i use secret jardin clip on monkey fans on my tent i got 2 oscillating for about 20 pounds each but 1 if enough if you want to look on amazon or ebay
