Indoor Testing the eazyplug pyramid mini.

@kfigerm
Long time fella's. Well, I harvested my Ultimate. Managed to get 1kg off it wet. A few dry spots on the buds as we had a heat wave of 43c in the last days... anyways it was an experiment and its done.
The 9 pyramids in the tent are blowing my mind. The Devils Cream is looking amazing, every single bud is super frosty. The buds pics look like photoshop. The UVA385 and UVB285 I hit them with for 6 hours a day is seriously pushing that "frostiness"
My Ethos Purple Thai seeds arrived for the next 9 pyramid grow.
Here's a few pics :)

Where is @The Iconoclast

very nice results - surprising how efficient those little Pyramids are, but they clearly work well along with your growing of course!
Could you let us know your UVA and UVB timings, is it straight on for the 6hrs or intermittent?

Thanks
Z

Thank you. I must say I get a kick every time I open the tent and see these 1.2 meter monsters coming out such tiny little bases. It did however take a lot of tinkering, time and experimenting to get to this point.

As for the UV, I have two different kinds of tubes. The UV-A at 385nm and the UV-B at 285nm. The UV-B is for medical equipment. All tubes are 20w. I'm currently in the process of acquiring a single bulb that will emit both 385nm and 285nm @ 460watts. They are for large paint curing machines. I will have two at the canopy and two suspended with rods down into the mid part of the plants and tent as to hit the central and lower buds. Hopefully this next experiment wont give me arc eyes, sun burn and cancer lol. I doubt I will run those for 6 hours a day but time will tell.

I run all the UV tubes for 6 hours straight. They hang between the LED rails. I have a 700w LED. 20/4 schedule so the UV runs in the middle 6 hours of the day. Everything is controlled by Sonoff controllers to keep things easy. There is so much conflicting info on the net and forums about UV I thought Id figure it out for myself.

The buds have become so frosty that my camera struggles to expose them correctly. I may try and give "rest" days in-between during my next grow just to see what happens but I doubt it as I'm really happy with what's happening now. The leaves have started to cook over the last week so I do think I'm pushing these ladies to the limit. We will see how it ends up.

I’m loving the purple tinge in your tent!!!

I saw a video between Shane at MiGro and Bruce Bugbee both said having it intermittent is better rather then a straight blast, If I’m right they basically said the plant can get used to the uv and no longer take in the uv qualities.
its about 22 minutes in….

Thanks for teh reply, very helpful! That is teh issue I had at looking at UV, there is clearly merit in it, I am going to have to dip my toe and see.
Lovely plants

@Little-Leopard Nice harvest and nice plants!
I am making a small pause myself - don't know about @The Iconoclast Got so much stuff around for a while. My ultimate gave me 5 (plus a little) 2oz grove bags of nice dried buds.
These days I was cleaning up the things and had the pyramids in my hand again..they are so light and easy to store. Simply washed them out and then brushed off the salts after drying them.I still keep the massive stem of the ultimate in the last pyramid..just for the looks.
But as she outgrows my tent too much and it would be inefficient, I will go with "smaller" plants on purpose the next run and spare those ultimate seeds for summers outside.
I guess the next round will start somewhere between december and february, and I think I will try to reuse the pyramids.
I'll keep subbed and look forward for the "pps" - perfect pyramid setup. Lots of nice and well doing variations.

Cheers!

Hello all, im new here and new to growing. I have grown in the past but it was all a kind of Do It Yourself project with some buddies having fun. Im sold on using the Pyramid method and i understand much of what is in the forum and have gained a ton of knowledge from the grow community. However, i am unclear as to the delivery method for the nutrients. If someone could walk me through how they are implementing nutrients into the watering cycle i would be so appreciative so much so I will name my first grow after you lol..

Happy growing fellow growmies!

I'm on my first grow with the pyramid minis and so far I am very pleased. I have only grown in living soil up to this point so it has been a cool learning experience. I have a grow journal going if you want to check it out.
