Indoor Tent lighting suggestion. Cobs, HID or both.

Hi afn, I'm looking at upgrading my tent, currently using 2 x 2 x6, looking at getting 4 x 4 x 7.

The problem I'm having is, what lighting do I use...

I used to grow mh/hps, still got all the gear for it, 2 x 600w ballasts, cool tube, large extraction fans, in thinking this would be the easiest route to go down as I still have all the equipment, and would be best on the bank balance.

Or, do I build some more COB light units, currently running 2 x Cree cxb3590 72v. Now I have a spare mean well driver, so could easily knock some lights up after buying leds and heat sinks, would probably go with citizen chips after all the builds I've seen with them on here.

Or, do I use my current cobs, along side a mh/hps setup. So a 600w HID light, along with 200w of cobs,

Any input would be much appreciated

Just add a cheap 8o0w led to ur x2 600s get a crop off then buy cobs with money so not loads coming out ur pocket at start

I only use 6x800 leds in a 2x2x2 meter tent over 3 blueberrys my plants are 6ft

I already have a 300w vipar led. So that could be added as well to 600. I'm just thinking of electrical usage that's all really. Trying to think of the most cost effective way in the long run to do it.

Well u used to use hps but the heat and cost was hard to contol sacked them got 6x800wat leds now never looked back plants are covered in thc buds galore no heat electric bills halfed dont think ill use hps again

This is the thing, I've got so use to the electric bill being low running leds, not it's more than likely gonna shoot up again. It's either spend money on low usage gear, or spend money on electric. The growers conundrum.

60 a week for me but 2 carbons 2 big fans 6 800w leds

That's not too bad for 4m sq of space tbh. Having a space like that maxed out would easily be worth it.

How many plants?
16 in say, 15-20 litre pots each would give each one 50cm x 50cm space. Scrog the whole thing, or some lst so everything is the same height. You would get an absolute mountain of a harvest with that size tent, running a bit of lst or scrog.

You also need room to water as well though.

I'm dipping my toes into the world of hydroponics lately, could get quite a few dwc systems on a space that size.

Depends on your growing method I would say.
