Lighting Telos 0008 testgrow with Auto Ultimate (DWC)

Hello! :baked:

I got to play with this light already a little and now it is time to give it a better shot. I chose to do the test with Dutch Passion's AutoUltimate for two reasons; one would be because I promised to provide this strain to my patient I grow for (it really works good for her pain!) and second would be that this strain is robust, very stable and have never let me down. I consider it a very good reference strain to test with since I've gotten most experience with it. I am planning on to start the seed with single HS1 as a light source, up until she starts to get a bit bigger to handle that monster of a light. I would estimate that I would do the switch when the plant is about 15 to 20 days old, depending on how fast it has grown.

My setup is as follows:

Grow space:
60cm x 100cm x 200cm (DxWxH) = 0,6 m2
(walls done with Orca grow film)

Lights:
Grow Northern Telos 0008

Reservoir:
GHE aeroponic system tank modified to be just DWC tank. I use 3" tray and 9.6 lpm airpump with 4 airstones. I start with 28 litres of water and after the roots have developed enough, I lower the volume to 21 litres. There is a robust plastic tray mounted to the bottom to protect from any water accidents.

Nutrients and additives:
Remo Nutrients (Micro, Grow, Bloom, MagNifiCal, VeloKelp, AstroFlower & Nature's Candy)
Advanced Nutrients Voodoo Juice (Beneficial bacteria product)
Canna Cannazym (Enzymeproduct to help keep the roots clean)

Air movement:
Carbon filter and exaust fan (280m3/h)
Oscillating fan

I have inserted a single seed to a rockwool cube just now. Presoaked and rinsed the whole thing in plain water that was pH'd to 5.5 for about 15 minutes and then soaked it in a solution with VeloKelp 2ml per litre (pH 6.2) for another 15 minutes.

pH 6.1
EC 0.3
RH 50
T 23,2

Week1 Feed (ml per litre):
VeloKelp 2,5ml
Voodoo Juice 1,5ml

:pop::pop::pop: sounds like we have a good show ahead

Someone is struggling to get up, it seems. This is 6th day for the seed to sprout and finally we are getting some signs of life. It seems this one has its head trapped into it's shell that is lodged to the rockwool still. I think she pulls out there by tomorrow and get the business going from there.

phew 6 days dunno if i could wait without having a look :pass:no stopping her now

Just 2pence worth- but I did some ultimate and it was one of the fastest germs I've ever had .

I actually forgot them for two days and when I came back to open the DVD case, the tails were about 5cm long - like some kind of triffid bean sprouts ?!!

No doubt some vigorous genetics in there!

Totally agree bro! This just took longer because it is couple years old seed. Their shell tends to get harder over time and takes longer for moisture to get through that I guess.

I dont do any presoaking or nothing, just put a seed to the rockwool. That being said, to my amazement, I had one young AU seed pop up only in 2 days after putting it in.

DAY 02

pH 6.3
EC 0.3
RH 49%
T 25.6 C

Distance to the light (HS1): 50 cm

Little baby is growing some root. Isn't she cute? I may lower the light to 40 cm if she keep getting more leggy than this. I try to be nice and give her some soft treatment first before the photon bombardment begins :haha:

That is going to be a monster!
:jawdrop:

:peace:

Edit: What diffuser are you using on the HS? a 60x60 on this?

Let's hope she is going to grow up to be a true monster! :vibe: I am hoping she would be ready for Telos at around Day 14 or so. AU has phenotypes that tend to grow super fast so I hope this is one of them. I actually don't even remember what diffuser I had on that light. I guess it is 60x60 if that is what came with the unit. Because I never have even took them out once

Subbed and looking forward to this.
Your grow is the same age as mine, so it will give me something to judge myself against :bump:
