Indoor Taproot pruning Experiment - Baby

Thats just badass! Simple yet very functional. What did you use for the support?

If you look on the first picture you can see two beams, those are the supports, on picture [HASHTAG]#2[/HASHTAG] you can see the crossbeam, which is also cardboard but has a crunchy metal center. That's enough to support the weight of the light on the Z axis. To give the case some stiffness I took the short front flaps, cut them in half and taped them to the rest (Image 1). That makes it more stable.

Well I may have made a bit of a blunder with the Somangos.. when taking cuttings today I found two budlets with mold starting on them.. After a closer inspection, the plant seems to be further along than I thought and the humidity was too high. Where there's two, there's more. Unfortunately I can't inspect the plant outside the tent because of the scrog, so my only workaround is to raise the temps to 30c and increase the atmosphere exchange rates with the outside.

Oh crap, hope

Hope you caught it early bud!

Well, its the same thing. Better now than at harvest!

Quite true, lets me prepare mentally.

UPDATE:
The plants which had their taproots pruned at 5cm(2") are all showing signs of deficiencies. I initially thought the dwc plants were an outlier but they were apparently just ahead of the curve. If the pruned plants were growing stronger I'd understand but they're not. They are in fact smaller.

The dwc plants have outgrown their deficiencies and are now doing well again, with no intervention on my part.

Here's the current main attraction:

Somango update: Had to cut a few nugs from the right hand plant (moldy), nothing too bad and nothing more visible atm.. fingers crossed.
They have been frosting up in the last few days (clouding of the trichs). It's all very nice and even, like a wave. Soon they'll get the chop and then I'll see about reVegging them for seeds.

Glad that you only found a few spots!

Regarding your cardboard grow-box, it seems like a pretty cool idea! Personally I'd worry about the effects of humidity on it though. Things like creating an environment where mold, fungus, bud-rot can thrive. If also be a bit concerned from a safety perspective about the structural integrity throughout a grow. Have considered trying to line or treat the cardboard somehow? Perhaps a plastic lining or spraying with a varnish or enamel of some sort?
