So, I have been lurking on the site for a while, as I am growing my first plant ever, and she is an auto. I didn’t really record the sprout date exactly but she she sprouted the week before Christmas, I guessed December 19th from what I remember.
I’m the beginning I didn’t really have a good setup and I was going to grow her in my grow room with all my other plants but decided against it because of some spider mite and whitefly issues.
So after a few weeks I managed to save up for a tent, which I setup in my room.
It’s pretty budget. I started out on 300w (output) LEDs then switched to a 600w one maybe in the 3rd week? I’m just using budge fans to keep the air flowing from outside in and outside. I just took an air filter and modified it to make my own (but I have to maybe get a carbon one later, however I am in a legal grow state so I don’t need to worry about cops)
I use a humidifier to keep her moist as it’s pretty dry here. There is nothing automatic about my setup and I’m going the organic way.
Which is partially why I chose the pot I did. It’s a clay pot from Mexico and holds 15 gallons of soil. I put a tube in it so I could water from the bottom and get those roots stretching to the bottom of the pot. I don’t always fertilize because I’m just using organic nonspecific fertilizer. I have one for veg and one for when she starts flowering. I generally follow the rules of rotating just plain water with nutrients. (I fill the tray, when the tray is dry I fill it again, etc)
She’s in week 8 now and no signs of buds forming yet. She does have the little pistils on the node sites and it starting to have a good smell but that’s about it.
In the beginning her nodes were stacking too closely together, partially my fault for using too strong of a light and without enough night time for stretching.
After I raised the light as far away as possible and extended her night period she started stretching more. Currently she’s on a 16-8 light schedule to help improve her internode spacing.
I’m going to post the pictures as replies and try to keep them bunched together to show the growth over time (since I did document with photos!)
