It's a bit late starting but here are my Sweet Skunk Auto from Sweet Seeds. These do great in the wilds of the north of England under plastic cloches but I've never grown any indoors. I've some photoperiod plants vegging in the other half of the tent so I thought rather than waste the space I would get some autos in there.

They're 30 days old now. I filled 10l pots with BioBizz Light Mix compost and soaked it thoroughly with a mix of Root Juice and Maxicrop seaweed extract. The pots were then put in the grow room to bring them up to a nice temperature while the seeds soaked in water for 36 hours. After the 36 hours were up and all of the seeds had sunk they were transplanted directly in to the 10l pots under a 600w bulb.

After 10 days they received their first watering with a 2l feed of 0.33ml/l Grow, 5ml/l Maxicrop, 0.5ml Biosilicon and 4ml/l Root Juice. After a further 8 or 9 days they were watered again with a slightly stronger feed and we're up to 0.6ml/l of grow now.

These are the nutrients and additives I use, the guano and palm tree ashes are blended up to make a PK booster for later

Day 30

The growth rate for the last two days has been in excess of 2 inches per day. Having never grown autos under lights indoors before, it's quite amazing to see!

Cheers! I'm pretty happy so far, there is one plant which stretched a bit too much and the upper growth got all curled up and yellow from excess light but the rate of growth is such that I reckon I will just see a layer of yellower leaves somewhere in the plant, there is new growth above it so it should be fine, glad it happened now and not while they're full of bud.

The growth at its fastest was about 2.5 inches a day and it is now just under 2. I'm planning on keeping the feed on a grow rather than bloom schedule until the stretching stops. I'm guessing that will be in the next week maybe?

Also, with photo strains indoors I give them a dose of Epsom salts to ward off any chance of a mag def later on, is that necessary too with autos and when do you recommend doing it? I'd usually do it around day 10 of 12/12 and again half way through the flowering period. I guess around the next watering would be the time?

Any help is gladly received, I've been growing 10 years but never done autos indoors before.

These pics were taken yesterday, day 33. The last 24 hours has had negligible stretch and the pots are dry and due a watering so today will be their first feed of bloom.

The last feed they have had was 0.6ml/l grow, plus seaweed, root juice and silicon which I don't tend to feed in flower so today's feed will just be grow and bloom but I don't really know what quantities to start them off on.

I took a look at a BioBizz schedule (for photo plants), and I would guess that due to the fact that I have buds on them that look similar to week 3ish of 12/12 that it would be good to take the grow:bloom ratio from that week. However, for Light Mix soil it recommends a ratio of 3:2 for grow and bloom, and then 1:1 the next week before 4:3 and then 1:1 all the way until the end. This seems like a lot of grow to me and I'd be concerned about that giving me very leafy buds.

When switching from grow to grow and bloom at this stage, what ratios are recommended? I had thought I'd go 1:1 for this week (last day of week 5 (day 34) and through in to week 6), then 2:1 in weeks 6 and 7/8, gradually increasing the ml/l in those ratios and then back to a 1:1 ratio in week 8/9 and plain water week 9/10 depending on how things look.

Does this sound about right? If they had 0.6ml last week, would 1ml grow and 1ml bloom be overkill? Should I perhaps do 0.5ml of each? Maybe I'm stressing too much, my photo plants always do fine using intuition and maybe I'm over thinking!

Here we are on day 36, they've been fed 0.75ml each of Grow and Bloom 2 days ago and they're due to be fed again today. One seems to be a bit more sensitive than the others so I'll be giving that one a smaller dose this time, all the rest have just had a top dressing of guano and palm tree ashes. They'll also be getting a little bit of Epsom salts in this feed too.

Not autos, but here are my other plants in the other half of the tent. They're Kronocaine which is a cross of Herijuana and Amnesia Haze. The females from this lot are getting scrogged across the whole tent once the autos are done.

Hello. My photo plants are still only showing sex on three out of seven of them, I presume beyond a slight drop in yield that it will do my autos no harm to go on 12/12 for a few days to try help trigger some preflowers?
