What type of light is this would it be HPS? and how easy is this going to be detected while in use? safety comes first! lol

It's a DUAL lamp (blue and red) ... it's got something like 25% blue (halide) spectrum in it to help the veg state and the rest is HPS.

chances of getting a chopper noticeable heat sig from 600w is minimum so long as you are well vented etc... they are looking for folk running 5 x 1000 watt bulbs in a whole house.

are you UK based ?

Yes UK based got two of these. I have ventilation rhino kit with carbon filter to

you should be fine with a 600 then I think, if your space requires it, if you are in a tent you might be just as well using a 400
(depends on grow area and how many you are planning to slam under it lol)

aye got a big tent was thinking of using 2 x 400w this will work a treat wont it? and undetectable

Also what is the distance needed from light to plant for HPS?

lol, I'm new to this game myself mate, but from what I've read sofar, I believe you'll be fine with 2 x 400's ;)

lol cool cool well thanks for help anyway :D this site does rock :p. Im just wandering if i could put one in with a 250w CFL dont know if that would work together

Place you hand at the top of the plants, palm down. If it feels too hot for your hand, it's too hot for the plants. Raise or lower it until it feels comfortable on the back of your hand.

Thanks :buds:

you will be fine m8 as long as you can keep your ambient temps within 5-8 degrees C of the rest of your house, flying pigs can only see heat that is escaping from your house not the heat thats inside, thats why they can see larger grows in an attic because of the heat that is escaping through the roof tiles. they (cops) want everyone to think that they can see even a 60w incandescant.
the truth is they cant see nearly as much as they want you to belive.

id worry more about noise from fans and light leaks that neighbours might see/hear.

p.s those bulbs are very good all round performance you will be happy with the results if you can control your enviroment:thumbs:

:peace: pipez
