New Grower Suki's Perpetual Grow-a-thon

I hang my temp/humidity probe at leaf height.

You are growing auto's are you not? I'm wondering if it wouldn't be cheaper to keep the lights on 24/0 in stead of using a heater? Damn, so much variables to be accounted for. In my greenhouse everything is much simpler. I can't control chit in there, so I go with the flow. Now all of a sudden I'm a (small) indoor grower and all those variables become controllable and I want to master them...
I've got some super strong double sided tape, but when we were rearranging the bedroom to accommodate the new tent hubby put it "away" somewhere and I've yet to find it. I did turn the heat up to 69* in the house, so I'm assuming that will help temps hold a bit better (its what I kept the house at all summer) and dry the air some as well. Now that I think about it, I started having issues with my temps shooting up in the tent about the same time that the the air stopped running. Temps didn't change in the house, but I bet the fact that the air exchange was limited so much had something to do with it.

The newer houses are pretty tight. You might have to crack a window someplace. If there's no way for air to get in, your exhaust might run without moving any air.
Is '86 newer? We do have new windows, but we've got a doggy door and there's definitely spots you can feel air coming through the walls.

Ventilation inhouse is very important, not only for the air exchange of your plants, but you need less energy to heat up dry air then you do wet.
Every morning we open all windows in the house for half an hour or so, in the boys rooms maybe one hour :crying: Those smelly monkeys!!!

Btw, I've been busy all night trying to set some sort of timer on my fan... 2min on, 10min off seems to be working at the moment. I'll have to let it run for a couple of cycles, but I might get lucky and have a temporary solution until all the parts arrive to cycle the fan based on the humidity.

Our humidity here is so high year round. Mild wet winters.

Yes, that sounds brand new, 101 years newer than mine anyway. Maybe the doggie door is leaky enough to provide replacement air for what your exhaust blows outside. Blow some smoke at your exhaust intake once in a while and see how quick it gets sucked outside. To check chimney draft for furnaces and hot water heaters we hold a lighter flame near the opening to see if the flame gets sucked sideways toward the chimney.
