Suggestions needed

Hi @nbbeerguy
Sound like a great project I was also thinking about.
I have grown three different Black Lime Reverse crosses from Smokey, all was line dominant only the undertone in smell and taste changed. It would be easy to outcross the taste from the autoflower strain you use with one bx.
I would use a auto strain with the best size and structure and don't care about the terp profile. Breed them to f3 full autoflower and bx them. After the bx go again to full auto. I talked to Krk about the best way to breedout terp smell and taste of the autoflower parent and he recommended that way.

The only line I wouldn't use is a skunk line because the skunk gen are so dominant and it would be hard to cross out the taste.

I hope it helps a little bit my friend

Have a nice day

Was also wondering about selfing to speed up the process to lock down the terps

I'm very new to auto breeding, but I'm very familiar with photo breeding and running high numbers to get what you want even in a f1. I know that the f1 between an auto and a photo will be a photo generally. Hypothetically if you got the terp profile you wanted in the f1. Couldn't you keep a mom and bx to that with the auto f2s and f3s to really lock down the traits, but not have to start completely over on the auto genes?

I think it really depends on the quality of the F1 plant you find I mean I could find exactly what im looking for Terpine wise in the F1 so If I FInd that girl in the F1 I could self her and move on down the road to fully Auto

Have you had success with using selfing to stabilize stuff early in a project? My mind always views selfing as a last final product to protect stability in the line. I've heard that too many generations of fems in a line makes it more prone to herm. Ed Rosenthal said something to the effect of doing generations of femming starts to make it like your selecting for hermaphroditism. I don't love cloning though, and plan on expanding to making and using more fems in the near future.

No experience what so ever Ive made 3 batches I think of fem seed just to see if I could I am reversing a local strain that stays in veg at 22 Hours light but give it any darkness and it flowers its an old cut 20 years or more old

I'm planning out a fem project after I do some auto/photo breeding. I think I'd eventually like to run a no-till tent with homemade fem autos.
