Spring-Summer Grow -- Maria among the Hazes!

Day 156: 135V + 21F

Made a visit today, to water and see if I can tie them up with something.
Temps have been hot again, high/low of about 34C-28C.
Was a tiny amount of rain yesterday, but nothing really.

I just took in some gardening string for the tie back.
Thought I'd try to find something on site, as usual.
As luck would have it, on the way there I first found a nice broom handle -- perfect!
Then I found two nice pieces of construction re-bar (is that the term?).
And then another piece of something like looked like window framing or bathroom runner.
The idea was to just stake those in, and do a very simple string tie around the plants.

When I got to the site, I found that they were all back up nice and tall!
Except one branch of the SSSTN (pic below).
So maybe they were just chilling out after the wind and rain last time.
Whatever the case, a tie back is a good idea -- these girls are tall, and sticky growing!

No family pics today, I did more flower shots, so you can see how their development is going.

Revegged Super Silver Sour Thai Neville (Sticky pheno)

Now that these two girls are flowering, I can affirm which is Sticky and which is Fluffy.
My original guess was correct, but now I'm like 90% certain.
Sticky is more straight and solid, Fluffy is more delicate and branching out.

Let's have a look at Sticky.
She's slightly taller than Fluffy, and now looks like she may stretch longer, too.
PXL_20240824_030028766.jpg

Revegged Super Silver Sour Thai Neville (Fluffy pheno)

I think the two colas in behind are both Sticky, so you can see the height difference.
I really wonder what her flowers will be like this time.
As the first time, she was stunted and shaded out by Sticky, and by the time she was hitting flower, it was like already past the winter solstice.
So she flowering with increasing light hours.
May have contributed to her having a lot of male flowers at the end of the flowering phase.
PXL_20240824_030058477.jpg

While most of these big tops got tied inside the string, I left a few outside, let them flop a little and get the light from other angles.
Here's one branch, not sure which pheno, but looks more like Sticky, that is lying almost flat straight, curling up to the sun:
PXL_20240824_030106228.jpg

Taller Grail x ThaiFrican

Look at this girl go!!
From the base of the stem, she's about 215 cm tall or so, which is 7' tall.
Gonna be one big spear cola up top, and lots of branches as well.
The branches have a beautiful shape, starting more horizontal but curling up to face the sky.
Sounds a bit like the long cola pheno of the ThaiFrican OJD mentioned.
PXL_20240824_030202507.jpg

This is one of the lower branches, and it's at the back, not a big one at all.
PXL_20240824_030219116.jpg

I think this is the top of one of the bigger branches.
This whole branch is not like a little tree itself, with her own side branches a foot long.
PXL_20240824_030246911.jpg

Taller girl still has stretch in her.
Her leaves are going from five-blade to three, but I'm not sure how much more she has.
Will she reach 250 cm = 8'? Maybe!

Medium Grail x ThaiFrican

Medium girl is a bit different.
She's hit about 160 cm or so, 5' I think.
Most of her stretch is done.
All the way down her branches she has lovely little flower tufts popping out.
Sounds more like the ThaiFrican spaced out foxtail colas, perhaps?
PXL_20240824_030124332.jpg

Let's have a look at one of those bud branches from the side.
PXL_20240824_030146506.jpg

The differences between these two phenos is becoming more obvious now they're flowering.

Spring-Summer Grow -- Maria among the Hazes!

Day 156: 135V + 21F

Lemon 'n' Lime Jones

Let's try to get some better pics of the Jones girl.
She is such a different plant to her garden buddies!
Unfortunately, due to her thick leafy bud, the bugs like nesting up in there and making webs...
PXL_20240824_030326805.jpg

She's got a lot of trichs on her.
PXL_20240824_030338332.jpg

Still many weeks to go on her, as it is mostly white pistils under that leafy clothing.

Revegged Grail (NvHz x Mullumbimby) (NLD pheno)

This lovely lady is always the thirsty girl.
She's in the smallest pot, after all, originally and after the re-pot.
She handles it well, but has lost a fair amount of fan leaves to yellowing.
I think I should probably feed her a little more, to be honest.
She is maybe about 5'6" or so, about 165 cm.

Flowering signs progressing nicely.
She is somewhere between the Taller GrxTF and the SSSTN in terms of speed and development.
PXL_20240824_030252593.jpg

She has about six or so big tops, and many more smaller tops down below.
Here's a look at a couple of those up top to show the flower situation.
PXL_20240824_030309133.jpg

PXL_20240824_030317074.jpg

Leaves are a bit droopy because she was a little thirsty when I got there.
She's had plenty to drink since then.

Seven SSSTN (Sticky) x ThaiFrican seedlings

Finally remembered to take some pics of these little ones.
They are tiny and crowded out, sharing space on the edges of the big pot.
Growing like the little 'weeds' they are, hahahahaaaa!

But... two of them need a coming of age party.
We have two girls!
The rest, still shy....
PXL_20240824_030546686.MP.jpg

PXL_20240824_030621094.jpg

On the left is the broom handle stake, and straight behind is the main stem of the 'Taller' Grail x ThaiFrican.
Didn't take pics of all the other ones, but you can kind of see them in the background of these two pics above.

Bonus Bat Pics and Cat Pics

Not only do we have bonus bat pics today, we also have bonus cat pics!
PXL_20240824_031414954.NIGHT.jpg

PXL_20240801_015837020.jpg

I think this is the same 'Flow Cat' as my avatar, who was sitting smoking in a comfy chair, saying 'Stay Chill'.
But Flow Cat has now smoked a few Js of the SSSTN at this point, opening her third eye and an halo, and is now hungry for some cat snacks.

Peace and Love,
~MJS

It's a line of underground/basement parking garages, upstairs are a series of three-floor apartments.
Abandoned for maybe 10 years, when construction was about 80% complete.

It's crazy how buildings are just left like that, good for you though ;)
I'm pretty sure there's a specific situation / reason behind it.
But never mind the details, as I don't want to provide them here.
It would amount to many millions worth of USD in total, probably 10s of millions.

Good for me, and good for my babies.

Spring-Summer Grow -- Maria's Haze Heaven Hacienda!

Day 161: 135V + 26F

Update time.
It's been hot, sunny, no rain at all.

Two Re-vegged Super Silver Sour Thai Nevilles
PXL_20240829_012354135.jpg

Getting into their stretch now.
Almost hitting 180 cm = 6' tall.
The branch I left laying down has grown up, almost straight.
Pulled a couple of side colas out of the restricting string, let it spread out a bit more.

Re-vegged Super Silver Sour Thai Neville (Sticky pheno)
PXL_20240829_012423379.jpg

If her first round is anything to judge by, she's got another maybe 60 cm = 24" of stretch in her.
This will be the biggest main cola.

Re-vegged Super Silver Sour Thai Neville (Fluffy pheno)
PXL_20240829_012409962.jpg

A little more delicate, but spreading out nicely.
The first round with this girl, she was blocked out by her sister and stunted for weeks and weeks.
So it was hard to know really how she responded to flowering initiation, and how long she took.
But at this point, she looks very similar timing to her sister, 'Sticky.'

Two Grail x ThaiFricans
PXL_20240829_012445761.jpg

It's obvious which is the 'Taller' pheno, and which the 'Medium' pheno, right?
Really showing their differences now, in flowering.

'Taller' Grail x ThaiFrican
PXL_20240829_012503380.jpg

Such a classic sativa!
Moving along nicely with the flower development, but still has a fair bit of stretch in her.
She has branches on her branches on her branches.
Some of the bigger side branches are like mini trees themselves.
She has lots of space , so the inner flowering sites are still getting plenty of space and light for flower set.
Let's have a look at the very tops of a couple of side branches.
(I'm not tall enough to really focus on her main cola up top.)
PXL_20240829_012510752.jpg

It's just the very top, not showing all the further secondary branching a bit lower down.
And another.
PXL_20240829_012517377.jpg

She's going to have long, pointy colas by the look of things.

'Medium' Grail x ThaiFrican

Meanwhile, this girl is taking a different shape.
Her stretch is pretty much done already.
Now lots of leafy buds popping up at every point along those branches.
Looks a bit like some of those Nepalese landrace / wild plants.
And a lot like the herb we had locally when I was at high school.
PXL_20240829_012456655.jpg

I should have taken a pic of one of the branches, showing the flower formation all along it.
Next time!
(I think the cola in the background right is one of the biggest branches from the 'Taller' pheno.)

Peace and Love,
~MJS

Spring-Summer Grow -- Maria's Haze Heaven Hacienda!

Day 161: 135V + 26F

Lemon 'n' Lime Jones

Hidden in behind those two Grail x ThaiFrican queens of the garden, is this lady.
She's such a different creature to these full sativas, but quite content.
PXL_20240829_012542261.jpg

A foot-long deep green stinky bud!
PXL_20240829_012546211.jpg

Just hitting that point when the older calyxes mature and pistils drop,
but most of the calyxes are fresh, and just reaching peak flower production.
Have to keep an eye on bugs making nests inside her flowers.

Re-vegged Grail project (NvHz x Mullumbimby Madness F2) (NLD pheno)

Last but not least, this lady.
I gave her a top up with some more Osmocote, but she's doing okay, just a minor issue of dropping older leaves.
(They're all dropping older leaves, but it's natural, and they have plenty of leafy material on them to hit flowering with full strength.)
PXL_20240829_012559026.jpg

Low angle photo, but she is 180 cm = 6' now, I'm sure.
Just starting the stretch here, too.
Gonna be fun with this girl!
PXL_20240829_012643907.jpg

She always has this delicate, dropping look to her, but she's quite happy.
The red on the petioles comes and goes, but nutrients seem to be fine, no K issues that I can see.

Happy growing, my friends.
The fall / autumn will soon be upon us!

Peace and Love,
~MJS

Spring-Summer Grow -- Maria's Haze Heaven Hacienda!

Day 165: 135V + 30F

Only four days since last visit and update.
Four days is enough that they will be thirsty.
It's still been hot, high/low around 35C-28C.
No rain.
Rains season just not here this year, which is a bit worrying.
Hoping the temps will start to lower and some rain come.

Family pic

All the girls are a little bit wilted from lack of water.
But should be no damage done, we'll just call it a deliberate 'dry cycle', shall we?! :p
PXL_20240902_012159381.jpg

Left: SSSTN girls
Mid: Grail x ThaiFrican girls and L'n'L Jones girl
Right: Grail girl

That's my watering bucket in front.
It's about 20-30L, but I just fill about 1/3 to 1/2 full each time I go downstairs to the pond.

Two Re-vegged Super Silver Sour Thai Neville (phenos 'Sticky' and 'Fluffly')

The tallest main cola:
PXL_20240902_012212512.jpg

A branch coming off a big cola:
PXL_20240902_012227200.jpg

Looking at the pics, these both might be Sticky pheno, oops!
Anyway, as you can see from the photo angle, she's towering way above my head these days.
Flowering, yes, but only just kicking into the stretch.
Of all the plants, these two are keeping their color the best.
A half dozen big strong colas are forming here, with another half dozen medium colas surrounding them.

Grail (fast pheno) x ThaiFrican (medium pheno)

Her top:

A side branch showing her bud structure:
PXL_20240902_012318186.MP.jpg

Grail (fast pheno) x ThaiFrican (taller pheno)

Check out the top cola on this lady!
It's going to be a 2'-3' bud right there!
PXL_20240902_012331202.MP.jpg

Some of her side branches are already bigger than many plants I've grown in the past, haha!
PXL_20240902_012339387.jpg

Her stretch is almost finished I think.

One interesting thing about this plant:
Even though she has this obvious and classic sativa shape to her, she is quite a bit faster than the Grail NLD pheno and the SSSTN girls.
Has some serious vigor to her as well.

One Lemon 'n' Lime Jones

Once I got home I realized I didn't take a pic of her!!
She now has no fan leaves on her, but the bud itself is still quite leafy.
Going into that bulking up phase right now, I think.
Didn't have time to inspect her for bugs, though.
The dry weather is helping her at this point.
Maybe a couple of weeks to go for her -- end of Sept possible?

Seven SSSTN x ThaiFrican seedlings

No pics here, either.
Still at five girls are two uncommitted.
But I think one of the uncommitted seedlings may be showing some male parts ... it's the tallest one, too!

Re-vegged Grail project (NvHz x Mullumbimby Madness F2) (NLD pheno)
PXL_20240902_012400324.jpg

Always have to get a low angle to get her in frame.
But this gets the light on her better than the other plants at least.
A couple of big colas here in this pic, a couple more out of frame.

PXL_20240902_012408868.jpg

Maybe mid-way through the stretch?
Just setting out her bones at this point, hehe.

Bats!

The light in the bat-cave was a bit different today, so maybe these pics are clearer.

Happy growing, my friends.
