stunted or normal ?

im def goin to do this and pick your brain.. thinking of maybe waiting a week to get things in order! thank u once again
No prob bud. This is what I do when setting up a new grow. Just like you said give yourself a week and set evvvvveeything up. Run your environment for a couple days and get you some baseline data point. You know just your temps and stuff during the day and during the night etc. get your medium all sorted and make sure the moisture and pH is all squared away. You know just give it a dry run for a couple days.

hey so i was thinking of starting these girls on the weekend. im using Pro mix HP so just peat, perlite and mycorrhizae again with gaia green dry amendments mixed into the soil. last time i did this i didnt water the whole pot prior to putting the seeds in just waterd over the seedling.. i been reading and see that alot of ppl water the whole pot a day or 2 before to saturate the soil and then dont water again until the seeds have their 2nd 3rd set of leaves (usually a week or two) i will do this method with a dome misted until they are large enough as for lighting im not sure yet what i will use there should be room under the 400 mh or i can go with the 600 hps instead until there big enough and maybe use a 1k hps for all plants in a 5x5. thoughts ?

That's good to water before so the grow medium is a good damp. Ya don't want mud. :nono: Even after the dome goes on, I check the weight of the pot to see if I need to water outside of the dome to keep the medium damp. Just pick up the bag before you add the water and get a feel for what that weighs. Then after you've dampened the promix, pick it up and feel the difference when its good and damp. Ya don't wan that medium drying out. I started going by less watering more often once watering gets going. I'll also use a spray bottle to spray the surface if that is all that's needed. Oh ya, I add a bit of perlite to that HP mix, 40% or so. That's my 2 cents on this :2cents:

Know nutting about those lights

well heres a little update at 20 days since they popped soil .. still not where they should have been but we all make mistakes. i decided to not top dress since i havent been watering the full soil and there should be alot of gaia green dry amendment in the soil still.. if i do see any nutrient difficiency i will go buy a tea of some sort, light is max at 400 watts MH moved closer and i also topped the soil higher on the stem to help from the stretch. 3 of them seem to be doing better one lagging behind.
What kinda soil you using? I'm using biobizz light mix and here are my plants at day 17, pics taken yeaterday. 1 mutant plant that I topped and shes finally starting to grow. But the other plants are ripping. Your soil might not be ideal?

Oh ya, I picked up large saucers, drilled holes in the bottom, turn em upside down to sit the bags on. Lets the bag get air from the bottom as well.

i think my problem was i only waterd the little circle where the seed popped and no where else i dont know if over waterd or just stressed from heat and low humidity.. temps were high 80s mid 90s with low humidity'

those plants look amazing man

Veg under the 400mh. They will stretch too much if u veg under hps. Hps is for flowering. 600 watt good for 4x4 area. 1000 watt hps will do 5x5. 600 watts in a 4x4 is the better option compared to power consumption.

600 watts can grow 4 big plants in 3 to 5 gal pots. Or 1000 watts cud grow 9 big plants. Or lots more smaller plants. Up to you how big or small u want to grow em. Use smaller containers for small plants and bigger for big plants
