Sts.. Is it ok?

sorry for calling it a hermi, I am myself fully aware what it is but just wrote that so there would be no confusion to others. I have posted on this site and many other forums and Ive gotten absurd answers, misinformed answers and only a couple of educated ones. I myself have spent many many many hours trying to research this topic and I have read a pile of information here and elsewhere. I have formulated my own ideas and opinions but honestly I am getting tired of reading. I have severe MS and all I want is a little help in accomplishing my project. These forums were, I assumed, aiming at helping people. Direct answers to my relatively simply questions (for you highly experienced people) would be so greatly appreciated. Im a proud person and hardly ever ask anyone for help although try to provide help when I can to people. So yes I could read more, but honestly I don't have the time or the mind or health anymore to do so. I am not a rich person or I would just go out and buy a hundred fem seeds of a good auto. If you can direct me to a very inexpensive source I would simply stop asking questions.

a lot of us here are sick as well , myself included , and are limited for time , there is no 100% answer , but myself and others have done our best to try and answer it many many times already , very recently too , it can be quite taxing at times to answer the same questions over and over , especially when the answers are still on site and easilly found , as im sure you can understand being that you are admitedly sick too

please if you can , take the time to read in this section we are in now ( https://www.autoflower.org/f117/ ) , it is far better you read and gain as much knowledge as you can , once you do , the answer will be easy for you , and is something that cant fully be told to you , it is something you need to figure out for yourself for it to truely be answered , and as mentioned can vary from plant to plant/strain to strain

my best advice if your new to fem breeding is to start the plant you wish to reverse a week or 2 ahead of the rest , start spraying it at first signs of pre flowering , if useing c.s spray daily up until it is beginning to release pollin , if useing sts ill have to let others give advice on that as i failed useing it

Doing up a batch of CS now, found an old cell phone charger (5.7v) Hooked up clips to the end filled a qt mason jar up with distilled water, put two holes on the mason jar lid and submerged my wires... I will let it sit till 9p tonight (12h) and than test the ppm... If I know I'm using a fem seed I can start spraying rather early correct? Want to try this one more time against STS... We'll see what happens...

yes yoda that sounds like a sound plan , keep in mind if spraying the plant early to not water it as much as the rest , it will stay water logged longer due to the daily spraying , even with an airy soiless mix like pro-mix hp , it is quite easy to stunt a younger plant

yoda seems u were succesfull with the sts from the picture in the othet thread. u dont wanne spray anymore as water will destroy pollen. do a spray once a week now so the pollen can form and your good.

the reason why u didnt see a reaction is because the first time u used 500ml and thus alot more water, the second time u mixed it in 160ml this is alot less water and u will see the reaction better. im sure your first stuff was also good.

both recipes are the same but u see the reaction much better when using smaller amounts of water to do the mix. very important is to not mix too fast and too much when your using the smaller amounts. a small bit of silver nitrate will make a white cloud that u need to stir away. waiting too long with stirring will make the nitrate react and turn black brown. thats not a good thing. stir rapidly add a bit nitrate, stir again, add a bit,stir again.. this way your solution will stay clear. adding too fast or slow stirring can fuc up your mix fast.

if u mix the same in 500 ml its easier as more water for the nitrate to dissolve in will reduce the reaction and thus less change a bad reaction will happen.


ps: cs is basicly the same as sts. its all about the silver. cs is just silver and sts is a mix that makes the silver work better inside the plant and can take it up better. u could actually use pure silver nitrate and have the same stuff like cs. cs is just weaker solution of silver in the water and thus u spray it alot.

aslong as there is enough silver content in the water the plant cannot be female. sts works just much better as u can measure the actual nitrate u gonna use and use the sodium so the plant takes it up much better and transport it. its just the scientific way of using cs.

update this thread with a picture as u clearly made it reserve. like i said before aslong as u dont dilute it too much it will work always.

with sts u wanne spray the day before u put the into flowering.i guess with cs u just spray everday and hope your solution contains enough silver.

I realize the recipe for sts calls for sodium thiosulphate anhydrous..but have any of you used the sodium thiosulphate penta hydrate? I did read elsewhere that someone substituted 9.9g of penta instead of 6.3g anhydrous for their solution. This would give a substitution ratio of 1:1.57, does this make sense? Thanks to all the kind individuals on this site and forum, everyones help has been unbelievably appreciated in so many ways.

Yes no problem with pentahydrate. Pentahydrate takes a little while to dissolve, the ratio is 158.11 to 248.18 or------ 1.6 to 2.5. And yes you did your math right 9.9gms of pentahydrate is equal to 6.3gms of anhydrous.

Alright UPDATE!i was trying to reverse a durrty female, she got way abused and looks like death worn over... But balls all over... Was going to toss the whole plant but said fuck it let me play with them balls :cough: well they were closed up and when I opened a few by trying to tweeze it open I saw some that had nothing in there... Than to my fucking surprise a few when opened and rubbed onto my hand had POLLEN!!!
Now I'm plucking the balls off and putting them in a Medicine bottle with a Silica packet... Question if I let them dry up in the medicine bottle could I just crush all of the Matter into a powder? than my thinking would be that the available pollen in that mix of crushed stuff would be released into the the mix...? Only thing I can come up with to get that precious precious pollen!

Dry it good. What ever amount of viable pollen there is you have. I use my spent blossoms as pollen, and I use it first-I save the dust for latter and use up my detritus first.


PS. Does this mean we all can get some sleep now?
