Hello all. This is my second attempt at growing, my first batch got stunted and were only about 1" tall at 2 weeks. So now that I got my first fuck up outta the way I'm at it again. I have 4 plants started Sweet Tooth and White Widow by Seedsman, Ripley's OG by Mephisto and Green Wild Shark by Victory Seeds. This journal will be following the Sweet Tooth and White Widow strains, The Ripleys I will be putting under the Mephisto section and the GWS I am entering in one of the indoor grow battles. I am using a coco perlite mix 50/50ish, root booster and advanced nutrients grow, micro, bloom line. ( Even though it says ph perfect I still ph my water to 6 before mixing) I germinated them using Mephistos recommended way then placed them into rapid rooters after they cracked. I have been using the root booster and the AN according to their feeding chart from day one. I am starting them off in solo cups doubled up, the inside one has the entire bottom removed and the outer has holes for draining, that way when I transplant I don't have to remove the whole plant from the cup. Today is day 7 and I am very pleased with the look compared to my last attempt this is also their first day under the actual grow light. I will be transplanting them into 3 gal containers in the next couple days. Here are a few pics. I'm gonna tag a few of you guys if that's cool. Any advice or criticism would be welcomed. @EvilScotsman @Roasty McToasty @jingo @Ripper @Slowmo @Ripper @iampepe @Lizardking @Mossy

Glad your off to a good start. I've always found feeding charts to be a little heavy, so don't be afraid to go lighter than the chart says. I like to shoot for ~400 ppm for seedlings and about 650 ppm in veg. When I add bloom boosters it goes up to around 800 ppm. Don't forget the calmag, necessary in coco, especially once flower sets in.

What kind of lighting? Does your chart give you a ppm/ec value?

Thanks for the invite:pop:

Thanks for the invite! I'll take one of these squishy bean bags and a bag of popcorn. :pop:
Looks like you're off to a great start:thumbsup:
Whats you light source?

Happy growing! :vibe::vibes::vibe:

I have a Viparspectra PAR700 dimable. It's just figuring out the right spectrum that I have to figure out yet. I have all 3 at about 30% right now and about 30" high.

I'm running a viparspectra PAR700 and no ppm/ec value for the feedings. I honestly didn't get a ppm meter yet. Talking with a few people they say that they don't really use them unless the plant starts looking deficient so I'm gonna hold off a bit. I'm going a hair lighter on the nutes but not much.

subbed up dude. not using something to measure your nutes is risky mate. i managed it on my first grow without issue but that was pure blind luck as i didnt know what i was doing and no internet. i wouldnt try it again. start small man. like a quarter the dose of everything and build it up.its easier to fix a deficiency than an overdose. once theyre a bit bigger they can take a lot of abuse but theyre still really fragile till theyve got a few nodes. that light is a beast aswell so whatever the reccomendation is go a bit higher untill you get the hang of it. also, ph your water after the nutes are in. leave it half an hour then double check it. all mistakes ive made on my current grow lol.

Ok you talked me into it lol I'll order a meter this weekend and I'll start doing the ph after I mix in the nutes. I checked on them this morning before I left for work and they don't seem to be stressed by the light so hopefully we're good. Last time I think the power was up a bit too high, can't really go off of the manufacturers recommendation. lol I'm just happy they're already much bigger and healthier looking than my last attempt.

I think pHing before you introduced nutes is a good idea with AN. I've seen a few growers with alksline background water that was within AN limits and the nutes couldn't overcome the buffers in the water.
