Grow Mediums stone dragon coco scrog auto kaya

Vinegar didn't create slime, that sounds like a bacterial or light leak issue......

Could very well be, I had those light issues at the time too. I figured it was bacteria though cause it just didnt look like algea. I grew up in the woods and around water. Ive seen lots of algea and this didnt look like it. I was thinking maybe I got an old or contaminated vinegar or something maybe, I dunno lol. Almost had the texture of a jellyfish and a light brown color. Quit useing vinegar and it was gone. If I could use it I would rather than chemicals. I xouldnt get it stable either. It would be 6 in the morning and back to 8 when I checked it 8 hours later :(

I've been using apple cider vinegar, plant loves it :)

Curious, did you have a sugary component in your rez at the time? And or did your rez remps get above 75º? I know all too well that if I add sugaree to my rez and the temps get to warm it gets all globy. Like gooey fat. Sorry about the only way I can describe it.

Nopers, just maxigro. My water temp stays around 75 actually though and only varies a degree or 2. But nice to know :)

S.d girls are lookin sad as shit. Have been fighting what I have under good authority is nute lockout. Soaked both tables with the hose yesterday. Maybe not the best idea. Last rez change on them didn't work so well. Have added apple cidar vinegar to both rez to get ph down to 5.5-5.7. To S.D 40gl solution added 3/4c it brought it down from 7 to 5.6. Added 1/2 cup to auto kaya did the same thing.
S.d rez...1.5, 76º, ph 5.7
47 rez....1.6, 75º, ph 5.5 (added a splash more)

Edit: checked p.h when I got home and it had risen to 6.1-6.3 maybe not enough vinegar? I have to say this has be all sorts of frustrated. Almost as bad as the haze problem. Looking back that could have been the same problem. Ph induced nute lockout. S.o.b.
Plantz are at about day 48.

I feel what your going through.
I have a Sweet Special that is driving me crazy with CalMag issues.

Question#1: Is this all new coco?
If so, I don't think your having the same problem as the Haze.
I think your Haze problem was from re using the coco without using an enzyme to get rid of the old roots.
Causing the old roots to rot at the same time new ones were trying to grow. Pythium.
Just my thoughts..

Question#2: Do you use brick coco? If so, what is your process for preparing it?

If your using vinegar for ph adjustment your probably going to get swings daily.
I'd highly recommend getting some General Hydro ph adjusting solution.
They're triple buffered to help keep ph stable.

I keep my feeds at 5.7-5.8 with my coco girls.
I'd try to keep your ph within 5.5-5.9.

Hope my ramblings help.:Sharing One:

Thank you sir.
A1. Lol no its new. Lol that was such a bad idea!!!! I use some omri certified organic black gold coco coir. Well the dampening off is what got 2 haze. Just bad all around.
A2. It's soft in the bag.

I have the gh ph ↓ was just hoping to not go that route. But then again.....wits end....blah
Thanks for lookin out.

I dont know where you are but I work in Hydro here in SoCal man so I have the Luxury of being able to help and work with LOTS of grows as well as use ass tons of Nutrients/media/equipment,ect. I can pretty much side by side anything I want and I get Industry firsts on anything I want. That being said I say all of the following with as much love and respect as I can ^.^b.
Best Coco hands down is Gold Label, but it is costly. This is because its triple washed, buffered and aged to prevent lockouts and PH swing. Its what we see guys breaking 3.0lb a light with. Coco are (Cal)/(mag) and (K) whores. It eats loads of it for no damn reason, and when (Cal) is taken and stored in high volumes it locks (N) out. I'd suggest Advanced Nutrients or Botanicare's PH DOWN/UP. Its the two strongest and will def keep your PH in check longer. Your base and how you mix also have effects on how stuff stays or falls out of balance. I tell customers all the time that mixing incorrectly will cost you lockouts. I don't mean your doing it incorrectly or anything, your last grows have killed it! I'm just suggesting maybe that could also be a prob. I stopped using (si) in Veg for that reason and some others I won't go into. I'll just end up sounding like my professor lol. If your in SoCal or anyone on the boards for that matter and have Nute, mixing, room setup questions w/e, drop me a PM. Like I said working in Hydro affords me the 411 on pretty much everything, if you saw my nutrient bar your Jaw would drop. I have stuff I can't even say yet because its not even out lol. Hope it balances out I'm curious to see the badassness again.

Thanks 777
I can bare witness to the coco being cal an mag whores for sure. How can I get the coco to lower it's ph? Just flush the hell out of it with ph'd solution?
As for mixing.... here is my process, ( using cutting edge nutes) fill rez almost full, measure out micro, put in rez what a few minutes, then finish filling rez, then follow with the rest of the line up. I always add more mag then it calls for. Cause of the known mag issues in coco. I have thought about letting the micro disolve over night before adding in anything else. What you think? Haven't checked on the girls yet this morning but will before work.
Thanks again everyone for lookin out.
