Indoor Start up Nuits

I drove by the hydro shop today cause I had to pick up a bale of Pro mix. They have both Canna and Advanced nutrients in stock. Why is Advanced spectra so expensive? Over $30 for two litre sized bottles. Wow. Must be some expensive stuff in there. Oh well when the two tanks get going I can compare them both to mor bloom. I wonder how well they will do. Does anyone want to comment on 400 PPM fertilizer level I am running the nursery tanks at? My big tank I try to keep between 800 and 850 PPM? The only additives I am using is Calmax. Calcium, Magnesium and Iron. Anything else anyone thinks I should add. I am trying to keep the pH at 6.0 and 6.3.

what kind of growth are you looking for Nelson? 4100k lights will give you more stretchy growth, if you swapped it out or added say a 6500k bulb, your growth will be bushier with tighter internodes. I keep my youngsters under 5500k and 6500k only to keep them tight and compact.

I'm not getting stretchy groth. I am below the 1 inch internodal spacing most people think is ideal. I am anxious to add some LED to the babies and see if that will help them out. Maybe when some money comes in I will add some the LED to one rack and compare it to the other tank with the same nuits. Gonna do the nuits testing first. Thanks for your input.

I keep asking about the nuit strength and I hear use half strength. I need more exact information. I was hoping to get info like PPM numbers.

When I use a PPM meter to set nuit strengths I actually measure the water in the tank and check it every day with the meter. I add more as required and generally take some nuit water out to keep the salts from building up. I then add more fresh nuits to keep the level where I decided it should be.

How do you guys do it? Add nuits once a week and guess where the PPM is at. Do the rest of you use a nuit meter. I am very confused that no one is answering my question. Please explain it to me. I really would like to know.
