Indoor Squid's Second Grow-Duurty Dragon, Diesel Ryder & MI5

Not that I am that far into or some great breeder, but just the idea is soo satisfying to me, man! I am getting into vegetable breeding too this Summer. I am starting with the classic tomato, I have three different kinds growing out back right now. Going to look into some more kinds and when I can get another big ass bag of soil from the nursery I am starting a LOT of tomatoes and getting started on that breeding project in the coming months. If I can get enough materials, I want to start 50 tomato plants by July, and with the climate I am in that's plenty of time, even though it's kind of a late start.

Thats awesome man..you gonna sell the tomatoes or something? farmers market?

Maybe. Probably give most away to friends and family and eat a lot too. I am doing so many for selection in breeding them. This will be a lot of fun and work. :D

I'd rather do my own sun-dried tomatoes, then vacuum sealed and sold :D Heinz has ketchup covered on all fronts IMO.

Yeah! Dried tomatoes are big now! They go well with salads and other healthy foods. Wish you the best there! :)

you know what else is bomb is when you jar and cure peeled tomatoes for a bit in mason jars..im not a pro or anything at it, but one of my old customers used to give me some, and they went over huge in my household for quite a few different meals. :)

EDIT..sorry for rambling

You can jar tomos like that by lightly blanching them in boiling water for about thirty seconds then dropping them in ice water. The skins slip right off and then you jar em up in the pressure cooker with a little lemon juice and salt in there for good measure. Hey Squiddy, next time you make sun dried tomatoes pack them in a jar and fill it to the lid with olive oil, then run them through a hot water bath like regular canned tomos. My GF made some and they're a treat mid winter!
