Indoor Space needed for autos

Hi,

I'm pretty new on here so go easy on me,

I was just wondering what the minimum size grow box would be to grow an auto in. I appreciate that different strains grow to different sizes and the way you grow will affect size, but what would be a safe size to grow just 1 auto in? Im using LED (Blackstar ufo style) and maybe a few cfl's for side lighting so heat isn't going to be a huge issue. Thinking of growing either Northern Lights or Hindu Kush if that helps.

That really depends on what kind of girl you choose and how you treat her.

Lots of light, feeding and root space will give you a bigger plant. The genetics you choose will define the maximum height.
If you want to go micro ask Microgrower. He is the expert for that.

In my humble Opinion you should be fine with a 60cm x 60cm 1,2m(higher is better) drawer/tent for most autos out there. Even if thats overkill for just one Auto. How many Watts do your lights use?

I think thats variable. I got a 26/27 and 24/25 inch plant in a 1 gallon airpot. You would think 1 gallon airpots would help keep it small but dam things are small bushes now.

Hey dude welcome to the best place for autos. It all depends on pot size really. The bigger the pot the bigger the plant. Also you could save on the height of the space by doing some lst. Micro grows very well in pc cases but he uses small pots. I used a 2 gal pot and my plant was no bigger than 2'x2'. I'm about to do a Grow in a 26"x26"x10". You can train your plant to be whatever size you want with lst and controlling height with your light.

Sounds good, i'm planning on using the Blackstar 135w (3w diodes), not sure of the actual power draw, probably be around 100w. And a few +42w cfl's. Do you think that will be sufficient?

I know there's a lot of dispute over LED's but after reading so many threads on various forums i've come to the decision that i'll never know how good/bad they are unless I try them!

Thats what they say about your Blackstar at Amazon.com: "Perfect for a 4 square foot area (2'x2')"

I think you should be fine.

Ya man that UFO will be perfect for a 2x2 and you could get a nice yield in that space. I would advise using the Cfls as well, if you don mind the extra wattage. The more the better.

Btw , I have been using the 100 watt version with great success without any other lighting . 2 of them in a 3x2 tent has been sufficient to produce nice bud .
I did this party cup grow in a 16oz cup using just the Lighthouse 100 watters . Nice little Duurty Dragon

ah right thanks for the link to gotham hydro yo, saves me sum money! Hopefully that LED will be ok for 1 plant then, i'll be getting everything sorted shortly so hopefully have a grow journal up on here soon
