Dragon Meds Sour D mango comparison grow by discretepete and greenskell

Worst thing for me, is that the potential of this strain is huge. If I did not bugger up(especially the big one), this strain would be an absolute monster(in both size and bud) given proper care. Next fall when I fire this up again, I will hopefully do better, though I am certainly not complaining with results so far. ;)
That's kinda what I thought too. The bud to leaf ratio was awesome. Aroma great. Just needed more density and trick coverage. Could easily have hit 3ozs. I pulled 351 wet of the Blackstone and the fairy frost looks like it will have even more

The small mango(sorry I haven't gotten around to pics yet) actually has very nice density, but the big one not much at all. Trich coverage could be better on both, but the small one has pretty nice coverage on flower, minimal on leaf though.

Okay here we go! Here is the small mango. I will be leeching after the next feed. One hell of a main cola on her!! Nice and firm from top to bottom. Not much for bud on the side branches.

A solid cola indeed!!

And the big girl...don't know what to say here. The recent leeching I did a few weeks ago did not solve the yellowing/cringing problem at all...she has been degrading by the minute since. I have been pulling yellowed fans off. Damn I wish I would have done a better job on this plant!! Oh well, still some pretty nice bud on it, just lacking in density and trich coverage a bit.

Dude those look great! But the problem u describe on the big one is exactly what I had. There was just no sweet spot and it seemed to always have the "muddied water" thing going lol. Could never pin point it. Glad your small one turned out great so u can have a solid sample. Mines almost dry enough to test. Will get it into jaes in about 2 days probably. I'm not very impressed with my grow on this one. I don't think I'll b showing anyone these haha. Looks like a very amateur, shotty outdoor gorilla grow with no love given. lol

Yeah they were a tricky one to be sure...would be one I would like to see outside due to size. Maybe a nice lighter organic mix would be good for a sensitive girl such as this.

Tell you what though...the cola on the small girl is quite dense. If it holds density throughout the dry it could be pretty substantial. The big one is fluffy, but maybe she'll firm up in the next 10 days(decided to ditch all 3 of the big ones for room for the photos to get started, keeping the 2 blood dragons on the side until completion)

Nice call. The photos are very important with such a large crop. I can't wait to see the photos go down over the summer man. I'm super excited. I think I'm trying my first photo run when the sour blues clear out. 2 in 5 gal pots in my 2x4 under both amares. Just not sure what to grow yet. But I'll have an extra seed if I buy a3 pack and can do a run with that and some clones it if it's really good. I'll b switching to 18/6 with my autos anyway soon so I think I can do some stuff and keep both going.

Oh yeah the summer photos are top priority. Just depends how the smaller pots fit in there, there is some wiggle room early on in their life till week 3 anyways. Remember though...last years outdoor girls were started under X4 measly T8 flouros! No idea what to expect using the leds, but it should be one hell of a start compared to years past!
Sounds like you have a solid plan ahead of you! Just need to figure what out one single strain out of 1billion photo strains to grow. ;)

Pete...thanks for the rep!
Despite the difficulties I/we had growing, this strain is pretty amazing. Done to perfection, it would have easily outweighed any I have grown so far I bet. I wont hesitate to grow it again, or the other Sour crosses I currently have (Sour Lemon, Sour Caramel, Sour D).

Yeah if it was done perfect I think I would have had a monster at yield too. It had a beautiful structure to it and fairly tight nodes making nice sticks. Just wish I could have got her right! Maybe one day I'll come back to it but for now I'm loaded on beans lol. Lots to try and do.
