New Grower Soil ph questions.

yes, ultimately your runoff is very important. i learned that the hard way. what ever your runoff is, generally is what your soil ph is. thats what you want at 6.5-6.7. what ever is going in, from what andy botwin told me only has to really be within 1 point. for instance if you want 6.5 runoff, then 7.5 going in is ok, but no higher. you soils ph is what determines nute lock, and definetly take squids advice about the digital ph meter trust me!! lol

That depends on what your feeds are as well. If you're feeding with 7.5 and your runoff is 6.5 then your soils ph is most likely somewhere around 7, see what I mean? Once you're on 6.5 all of your feeds, be it plain water or nutes, need to be 6.5 too. Only change it if you're trying to waver back in range if it gets off.

thank you growbewan! your name gave me a nice chortle!

thank you guys for being so helpful!

another question.. i used miracle grow 'organic bone meal' and 'organic blood meal' as well as their perlite. bad move?

I am not sure about their bone and blood meal it is probably the same as regular. Not saying it won't be fine I just drew a line with MG and don't cross it. And oh my gahd hell no on the perlite!

Without going off too much here, that MG perlite was the bane of my fucking first grow problems here. It has slow release nutrients in it that screwed me up bad.

is that grow here on afn?
