New Grower Soil ph questions.

Oh I'm sure you're right BuddyLove. I shall have to see for myself. Ya never know, I could be all water and air after that. Makes sense for a Squid, eh? :D

i came across a hydro shop in my travels and talked to them for a good bit about dwc. they had the net pot lid tops on hand so i picked one up, as well as some ph down and clonex. they threw in a gallon of compost tea and said that it's beneficial in dwc as well as soil. so as for now all my study time is going to be dwc based instead of soil. hopefully it's not too much more involved than it appears.

growbewan,

you only scared me a little :p

buddylove,

have you ever used clonex, superthrive, or compost tea in dwc?

well everybody that knows me knows i don't go for gimmicks or fancy monkey pictures on bottles....that said, cloning gels are ok. i use pure honey only, yes pure honey only. once you try it you will never use anything else to clone. as far as fertilizers, i use onlyR/O water, silica,CaMg, a 2 part veg A-B and, a 2 part A-B flower nute, plus pure flowers=bud candy....thats all. period. my grows have 70 plus plants going at one time and it smells pure and clean in my grow room 24/7
buddylove,

thanks buddy! also, what's the ideal ph for dwc? i'm seeing high 5's which, based on what i had learned about soil ph, would be way too low. does dwc/hydro require lower?

I'm finding DWC to be easier then Promix, plus no messy runoff to fool with is a plus. If something goes south, you can fix it with a res change. If you burn them, flushing is a breeze. When you run into problems with soil or Promix it takes much longer to correct it. Also compost tea does wonders for the roots. Helps prevent and cure root slime/rot. As far as pH for DWC, 5.5-6.3 is what I try to maintain.

thanks jackal!! :oD

what ratio do you use of compost tea:gallon of water?
