I mixed a bag of roots organics, and a bag of sunshine#4(that I over-limed just a bit). The slurry test for the ss#4 gave me a 7.0 reading and the roots organics came out of the bag @ 5.5. So I mixed them and got a slurry reading of 6.2. Should I keep as is or raise the pH a little?

See if you can't raise it a hair to 6.5.

If youre planning on adding fertilizer/nutrients you should raise the ph since nutes will lower it when added

depending on the nutes maybe. I haven't run into that problem, could be that I use organics.

typically nutes will lower ph...

I'd wait and recheck in a wekk... lime is slow acting... did you use "dolomite" lime or something else? dolomite is the faster acting.... yet still slow.... lime RAISES ph

Aluminum sulfate works good for lowering soil ph...

you can run a soul mix of 6.6 ish and when you add nutes (like fox farm) solution at 6.00 it pulls the 6.6 down into the 6.3 - 6.5 range...... a least in promix...

hope all this helps...

I mixed them like a week to two weeks ago. (I'm bad with time). I'm going to do a slurry tomorrow to re-check. As for the ph'ing of my water, I adjust with Earth Juice-natural up or down after I add my nutrients. Heard this stuff goes good for organic growing,(which I'm all about!!) I heard that the GH up/down brand is synthetic and will cause lots of salt build-up. Causes a bad chemical reaction or something? Also I use general organics for nutes. I've had good results in the past with fox farm nutes too.

I'm with JM, give it another week and check it again. 6.2 isn't far off. If it's still at that level in another week I would just feed at a slightly higher pH and you should be fine.
