Indoor Snerval runs mostly Indicas on BioTabs Line - Second grow

Hello bonjour !

A few days after topping, I practiced LST on branches 2 and 3 of Blueberry and Gorilla cookie, to spread the canopy a bit - tomorrow I'll do the same on branches 4 and 5.

The little OG Kush will stay small, so I'm going to let her grow without touching her -
Maybe I'll get some fun little buds ?

Wedding Glue is only 3 weeks old, I'm going to let her grow a little longer before performing LST...

I'm really liking this Biotabs way of growing !
:greenthumb: :woohoo:
Look at the freshness and beauty of these leaves, with future sites starting to appear...

@Bob's Auto's, I'd read on another Biotabs thread that doing a light top dress of Silicium Flash from time to time could prevent deficiency - I applied this suggestion, as well as 2 other contributions of my own : Light top dress of worm casting and some EM (efficient micro organisms)...
So far the plants seem to like it !
Also, I wonder when should I start giving them the first 3ml of PK 5-8 ?

@Dell boy @Bill.de.Cat and any other visitor - welcome ! - I have a question about defoliating : I see that a few medium to large leaves often end up just above future bud sites that need some light...
Is it ok to remove some big leaves ?
I couldn't help and removed the 2 very large solar panels at the top because they were really annoying...

About watering - I give 1.5L. water every other day to the 2 larger plants - with the Rain Science pots the water evaporates faster, the plants are stretching so they drink fast. I would like to give them more BUT: I think I need to avoid run-off, so as not to losing the nutrients and life present in the soil... Thoughts?

Hello @Olderfart, I remember you share good advices during my first grow :toke:

A bientôt !

They are looking beautiful brother!!!

Yesterday I filled two watering cans with 12L water, added to that 75gr Silicium Flash, 12gr Bactrex and 25ml Orgatrex. Let it sit for about 10 minutes and then mixed it with a stick just before watering the plants with it.

I would only remove leaves if you can't tuck them underneath the bud sites and they are blocking light to a bud site...

Thank you my friend ! I can't thank you enough for your help and I love looking at your grows and reading your comments.
I wish I could grow sativas too, but green house is a no-no in here...

In your opinion, when to start giving the plants some PK 5-8 ? Is it too soon ?

You're very welcome. This place has helped me get where I am right now. Far from being perfect, but able to help people out, what more can one ask for? ;)

I would start giving the PK 5-8 the last 30-35 days of her life. So with a 70 day cultivar I would start around day 40. Did you get the PK Booster Compost Tee? That can be used from the start of flower, but don't overdo it. I've made one batch of Tee for now and probably will wait until Sunday before I start another, which will be ready on Tuesday. You don't want to change nutrient balance to quickly as the plants are still in need of Nitrogen and to much PK will hinder that uptake...

Yes AFN is full of great advices ans experiences. I learn something new almost every time I read a thread !

Thanks for the info, I think I'll have to check each cultivar because I forgot their life span...
I didn't get compost tea, but I added some worm casting to the mix, as well as a light top dress at day 15.
I think EMs are beneficial too :)

Do you LST your plants sometimes ?

I do, but not in the greenhouse. In there I top at the fourth node and remove all the lower shoots so all their energy can go to the upper tops...

Bonjour AFN !

10 days later and the plants are doing great :vibe:

:greencheck: I started giving them a light dose of Bio PK 5-8, a flowering fertilizer from... Biotabs of course !

It's so stress free to grow with this line of organic fertilizers... you add water... sometimes you make a potion and you feed them... you watch them grow... I'd almost be bored !
But not really, because my region is currently overwhelmed with heat under a significant and prolonged heat wave...
So I have to juggle with RH and fresh air flow in in order to keep an acceptable VPD - plants get to breathe and sweat day and night.
Anyway there's always something to deal with in a garden, this is part of the fun :crying:

The little OGK is still very vigorous and develops nice future flower sites - she is the only one to grow almost untouched, as she was weak from the start, probably due to a root problem :

IMG_4114.JPG

Sweet WG is also not very big either, but she's quietly developing promising sites :

IMG_4115.JPG

The BB girl doesn't cause any problems and grows quietly and healthy :

IMG_4108.JPG

And now the GC ladies and gentlemen lol
The 2 branches that grew after the topping are now rather tall, which is starting to worry me because of the position of the LED lamp
(I'm at maximum height) :

IMG_4123.JPG

IMG_4122.JPG

Which leads me to some questions about topping (also for my next crops) :
- Is it possible to top the 2 main branches again, to control the height of the canopy ?
Obviously not now, but next time ?

- In the immediate future, should I have to bend the 2 branches - I think that is super cropping.
Is there a risk for the flowers ?

I tag some members that I know have experience, hope you don't mind...
@Vapo @Bob's Auto's
... and of course welcome to anyone willing to comment or chime in !
I really hope that sometimes thing ease a little, so that I can grow in a green house... in the mean time, here a view of the inside garden :greenthumb:

Bonjour snerval :toke: ...your grow looks good to me dude, especially with the heatwave!!...a little bit more cramped than I do but sometimes it cannot be helped....if your ladies are autoflower then it's not generally recommended to top them again after the first time, due to their shorter life span....but I have read of people who have topped a second time, with alright results!!....but these stories are very few ofc.....which leads me to believe that it's not something that people do all the time.....and supercropping is a good way to lower your plants away from your lights....but for me, I wouldn't do it unless I had to because it's more stress on the plant dude.....hope this helps dude:pass:

Thank you for your input !
So I'll follow your advice and do nothing lol
I just hope that the GC will stop growing soon...
In the future I may try a second topping because I will not be able to grow in larger place anytime soon...
Maybe If I do the first topping at a very young age, like 14 days, then the second one at 5th node. Maybe it could work ?
I love watching your little plants, so lovely :greenthumb:

On the other hand, how do you manage sativa or sativa dominant plants ?

Listen to my main man @Vapo brother. He knows his stuff and every time he starts a new run I burn a candle for those ladies he molests during veg... :naughtystep:
I'm not that occupied with keeping it small as I have room enough in the greenhouse. My main issue was 'how to handle bud rot'. So I top on the fifth node and remove the first and second node's shoots. This creates 6 shoots which compete for dominance and accelerates growth and helps spread the chance a bud will get infected with mold... After a week or two I check beneath the skirts and remove each shoot that won't make the cut.
I do leave all the fan leaves as those are the solar panels and storage for starches which will be needed during flower
