Photoperiod Sleazy goes on another Cannaventure!

Plants are looking great so far!

I also find mid flower a good spot to start screwing up... I think Chro is on the right track to be careful on the feed level. Stretch is peak feeding from what I have gathered.

I agree w/ RivetGrrl on the wattage for a 2x2. You could even bloom a 2x2 with a 150 watt quantum board, so at some point you could flower out a mother in there if necessary.

I would personally avoid mars. I had probably 4 of their lights and was never happy with any of them.... The price was right though.

For a similarly priced item that I can personally attest to in a 2x2 there is Meihzi "600w" on Amazon that is about 150$ and pulls 250 watts from the wall with bloom switches, and closer to 200 with only veg switches on. I used it for a couple grows in a 2v2 and was happy with the flowers.

If you just wanted to veg in there, I think a 100w hlg on amazon would do a good job, those are also 150$ and HLG has a solid rep.

Another route I would go would be either Kingbrite or Meiju on alibaba. They have a pretty good rep and their quantum boards are much cheaper than HLG, but I think there is a good amount of shipping time on their stuff (not sure).

I was gonna mention Meiju, but some people get upset about the HLG "rip-offs" so I tend to not talk about my lights. I bought a two panel off of them on Alibaba a month ago, ya I'd like to support HLG but financially I should not have even bought those lights. Plus HLG Canada does not offer much in the way of DIY (the only way I can afford their product).

I am using that light and two of my LED strips in a 2x4x5 tent and it is perfect, I even have the Meiju turned down to keep the heat back and everything is happy. It is the tent and set-up I'm running the Dinafem Quick strains in btw. I want to buy more lights from them, maybe some cob kits from Kingbrite.

Shipping was actually fast but a bit pricey. But they declared the product at a lower value so the import duty was much lower. Very great to do business with, I mean I bought one light and they gave me the service they would have given someone buying several.

Abd yes, a lot of the Amazon lights are great for the price, Viparspectra has a good following too.

WOO you confused yet?? :woohoo1:

If the shipping was fast, it seems like a great option. I've read quite a few positive reviews of those, and they look great in your tent!

Looks like star wars in there, and they are obviously doing a good job! : )

I was gonna say the pic is in that thread, totally looks like the Enterprise or similar ha ha. I'm such a geek first thing I thought of. It is my best tent for environment, the VPD is decent with no messing around, until we get a heat wave. Thanks for the compliment, I really like them, first QB's and I love the footprint as I can raise it right to the top of the tent (I want to get one for my baby box, it would be perfect in that space, although just one board). Heat is not so bad, I have a small clip on fan blowing across it right to the extraction fan, and the power supply is outside the tent. I'll see how it goes when it gets hot out.

I wish I could remember how long it took, seems like it was about a week? But then UPS took three days to get here from arrival in the local dispatch center, it just rode around in the truck. I really don't like UPS but that's the option they had.

Poor Sleazy, he's gonna come back to a full page on his thread with us nerding out on lights :crying:
I'm just as excited about all the tech as I am growing.

OK just need a lady nerd and you get the idea of me "talking" about this stuff

Lolol lights are one of the most fun parts of growing, hard not to geek out over them.

If it took a week or so from China, that's pretty awesome... They are priced very reasonable too and lots of people in the quantum board thread vouch for them.

I need to check that thread out again, I have not looked in awhile. Shipping was pretty fast tho, it actually got to the US border even faster but bounced around there too. Alaska to the south then up? It was very weird but tracking was nice too.

Cloning later in flower is tricky, so if they don't make it don't stress. If they do, you did a super great job
I would just take the tops off, and see how the plants respond. If they do not look unhappy and wilted, just leave the tops off. If they do, let some air in. I would not stress too much, with experience in no time you'll be chucking out the less desirable clones you will have so many :smoking:

As for the light, with LED it is tricky for watts per square foot, which as is isn't the best measurement but it's a ballpark. Is the Mars QB an actual 150W at the wall unit? If so, that gives you 37.5w/ft2 which is a lot of light! You could go with less even. Is it dimmable? If not, the 4' gives you room to let your seedlings/clones have a good 3' space, and the veg plants to be closer to the light. It is better to have more than less, so dimmable is great for that.
Yeah the mars ts 1000 is 150 watts at the wall. It looks very similar to other qbs I have seen online. It's not a blurple it's white light and I read it's dimmable. It has all good reviews. Really it's the light I'm leaning towards right now. I happy you guys are interested in talking about lights. I have learned alot from you guys already. That 200 true watt cob board I bought is actually really impressive. It also has about 8 far red chips and uv and ir along with the 4 cobs. I just feel like cobs may be a little too intense for a small veg area. It does put off some light.

Thanks for the advice man. I don't know much about led . I know that 200 true watt cob board I have is really bright. I feel like it mixed with the hps really puts off a good spectrum . that sucks to hear about mars. I almost ordered it already. Have you seen that light? I thinks it's the ts 1000? I think chrotoker said they use cheaper parts than the good brands on their new QB but Idk. Thanks for the help dude

I'm in the same boat dude, still learning about what I should be feeding at what stage, I've definitely done better this time as normally I'm still feeding way to much at this stage but I've gradually been decreasing feeds since week 3 of flower and now I'm down to 500 ppm going into last couple weeks.
Yeah man your grow looks great. Looks like your getting things dialed in real good. I'm gonna try to back off the feeding this grow. I mixed soil and added dolomite lime for this grow. I'm trying to keep things as simple as possible.

I had mars lights back in 2013-2015, some before they changed their name from TopLED to mars hydro, and some when they were using 3w leds instead of 5... So things have changed since then for sure.

I had one light from them using 400w from the wall and 5w leds and it was still garbage.

I really struggled my first couple years growing, and as soon as I switched from mars things got worlds better.

All that said, I have seen people use their stuff successfully. Even back then people were getting some results, but I never had luck with them and wouldn't try them again.

Thats just my 2 cents though, and I'm still a mediocre grower on a good day lol...

I looked at the ts1000, but I just think there are similarly priced options that have a solid reputation. Good luck whichever way you go dude!
