Mephisto Genetics Seymourbud's Soapbox

Thanks @HashyApache , they really are deep purple bordering on black. Turned around day 50 or so, but then she was bulking up at epic pace. She got much more chunky then I expected. I think the tall rosepots are about 1.5 gallon equivalents, and she produced about 32 grams of high quality and dense buds with little to no larf/popcorn buds. If she has the right qualities (for me that equated to sleep-inducing) she will be a stone cold winner. Got over 1,000 seeds from my spring run, hoping I can a couple more purples! I am a sucker for good purple bud.

I absolutely love that look myself. Had a couple Creme de la Chem do the same last run.
Wait.... so your stone dragons had a 50 day veg period before flipping into flower?! Duuuuuuddeeee. That opens a world of possibilities for training and manipulating. 1000 beans?! Maaaannnn I would not be pissed if a few found their way out to the farm. ;) Only joking of course! Great work as always man. Blaze on!

No, I mislead you. The statement, "Turned around Day 50 or so...". That is when she began to purpling (if that is even a word.). That was 16 days after she began flowering at Day 34. I have found most of the Stone Dragons I have run (and all have been in tall 1.5 gallon rosepots) have begun flowering between days 29-35. The Stone Dragons I have run are relatively slow ( compared to Mephisto genetics) during their vegetative phase. Even after they enter flowering, they don't have a bunch of stretch. Very similiar in shape and size to 24 Carat, Gold Glue, and Blue Toof Special. But she does make some fuss when it comes to flowering aromas, as she and the rest of the Stone Dragon ladies have been making my filter work overtime and the filter has had trouble keeping up.

Jarred up both SD bx7 and bx8 at noon today after only 3 days in brown paper bags. Now comes the job of slowly bringing the rh% down to the low 60's over the next 10-14 days. Been doing this for sometime and I am very happy (and so are my friends!) with the results. My first harvested SD, bx1, has been in a jar for 16 days. She is at 61% rh right now. 12 more days and she will be ready to sample.

Thanks everyone for the likes and nice words about the Stone Dragons that I grew. But all praise should go to @Stone as he has made it possible for us to grow and replicate his strains of great meds. Thanks again @Stone.

Got another harvested Stone Dragon. This one was taken at 84 days, why you ask. Because I had the free time and the
forsee
able future (5-8 days did not look good for harvest) and because I want to see the differing effects while harvesting at different days. My first SD was harvested at 95 days, the next two SD were harvested at 90 days, and this one was harvested at 84 days. There is only 3 left, and I have a plan to take #12 the latest, possibly to 105 days. The other two will go after 80 days as soon as I have free time and free home.

This one was much the same as the others, fussy from the nutes. I had to reduce nutes (Greenleaf MegaCrop) back to 2g/gallon, and that seemed to make them less cranky. No PK booster on this gal. I have been using Greenleaf Bud Explosion on the previous three SD. Looks like from my preliminary math there was a reduction of 10% - 15% dry quantity. This gal clocked in at just around 109grams wet/ 28grams dry, so not too unhappy. That bring the total to 4.75 ounces of Stone Dragon harvested so far. Plenty of good meds to keep me happy and to share with others. But wait, still three SD gals to go, hoping for anther 3+ ounces to bring the total to 8 ounces dry for this late summer/early fall Stone Dragon monocrop run.

Like the other gals I harvested, she is a real stinker and has great staying power! Harvested her outside to try and minimize her smell, but she just hangs on to anything and anyone near her for quite sometime. She also purpled a bit very late in flower. Looks like the last three gals I have are showing no sign of purpling and they are all at +78 days. Now some pictures. Pictures for some unknown reason are not great this time around, sorry for that.

Genetics are to credited to Stone, and some excellent growing to you @Seymourbud !
Lovely plants all around. Are you growing in 9inch / gallon and a half pots? If so, pulling a solid ounce is great. Top quality meds coming your way. It will be interesting to hear the comparison on harvest points. I’m sure Stone would appreciate the input.

Good morning folks. Been over 3 weeks since I updated this thread, so I thought I should do that. On 11/8/2019 I harvested 2 more Stone Dragons in 1.5gallon tall rosepots.

My goal had been to take them longer to allow them to amber and provide a more narcotic stone then what I seem to be getting with my current harvests which have been around +/-90 days. All the best laid plans..., I found BR on the main cola of BX10, so at 89 days I ended their run to save the rest of the plant from possibly the same fate.

As of today, 11 days later, they are curing there appears to be no BR still present. I rushed the drying down into the low 60% humidity range so as not to allow a high humidity situation in the jars while curing. I estimate I lost about 7 grams dry of prime main cola, but did manage to save the rest of the plant. In all, both plants weighed close or just above an ounce of dry weight at 28grams and 32grams. This brings my late summer run of Stone Dragons to a robust 7 ounces with 1 more lady to go.

The last lady is at 101 days today, with no sign of budrot (thank goodness). I am expecting her to go 105-110 days. She is the plant that self-topped early on. I think she will come in around 35-40 grams dry. Scoping shows a small number of trichomes are amber, but since she was slow to start her veg and flowering, I don't think there will be much deterioration of her meds waiting another 5-10 days. I just need to keep a daily eye on her.

No pictures as I rushed to harvest the girls whilest there were no workers at the house. I have some home improvement going on so it seems that I am working at all hours of the day and night to get things done in the timely fashion I have become used to. Sorry.

Very nice grow, too bad about the BR, I hope that you don't have a repeat on the remaining plant. Enjoyable writeup of your grow too, thanks for making the effort. :goodluck:

In my humble opinion, taking most Autos that long can greatly increase the chances of Bud rot. If you notice leaves dieing off, that can be a sign of the plant wanting to be done. Also, chasing Amber trichs on Autos is different than photos IMO. Autos degrade faster, and once that starts you are at higher risk of issues. I can tell by the picture that your leaves are dieing. Dead leaves can cause your Bud rot. Just looking out for you, so you don't lose Colas to it. Good luck, peace slowandeasy

Thanks @slowandeasy , I couldn't agree with you more. You are right on with everything you said. I knew it before I went ahead with the plan, but went ahead anyway to see it unfold before my eyes. If it had been the only Stone Dragon or even 2 Stone Dragons, I wouldn't have so recklessly experimented. But my cupboard is full with many jars, and quite a few jars of Stone Dragon in particular, that it eased my anxiety of a failed finish. Still got around 1000 seeds left, so I will be running a crop of early finishers next to see what effect they give. One of the joys, IMO, of making seeds is the only thing lost in this type of experimenting is time. But a whole lot of knowledge to be seen and gained.
