Good morning, and Happy New Years to all. Lets hope that 2019 is a bountiful prosperous year for us all.

So, it has been awhile since I last updated this thread. Basically, I shutdown the cabinet for most of the month of December as travel was going to have me away during the Christmas break for a week. Got down to some sunny weather on the southwest coast of Florida (FMB), got to put my barefeet in the sand and enjoy some hot sunshine on my face. This is very different then the dreary wet and cold mid-atlantic region where I reside, so it was a welcomed time-off. Now it is back to doing what I love with renewed energy.

I have made selections for the first grows of 2019, including my breeding cabinet which is still not finished. Hopefully it will be done by the end of this week. Grows in my main cabinet will be done in 3 gallon soil; grows in the breeding cabinet will be done in 1 gallon soil. With the purchase of 4 more new @BigSm0 that bring my total of autocobs to 8. The main cabinet will get an additional 2 more bring the total to 6 autocobs of the 3500k variety. For the time being, the breeding cabinet will only have 2 autocobs of the 3500k variety. I am looking to purchase another 2 more in the coming month(s); 1 will be in the breeding closet bringing the total to 3, and 1 will be set aside for a spare.

The seeds that I have chosen for the main closet are already in motion, and most (all except 1) have shown signs of popping their heads out of the Root Riot cube. They are :
1. Ghost Toof
2. White Crack
3. Sour Hound
4. 3 Bears OG

The Breeding cabinet has only one type of seed, and I am planning on pollen chucking to create seeds. I am hopeful that with 4 seeds I get at least a single male and female. It is Stone Dragon from Stone on the autoflower portal. I plan to look through the line and try to find a match for the type of medicine I have been coveting; namely one that gives me a restful night of sleep with no weed hangover the next morning. Currently, I am using the BTS and while it does give me a restful night of sleep, I am still a bit groggy the next morning. BTW - BTS is a wonderful nighttime medicine if anyone is interested and looking for that type of medicine. I am just searching for the holy grail of nighttime medicines, but will be perfectly happy remaining with BTS should the quest fail.

All 4 of the Stone Dragons have shown great vigor, with one of them already showing its first cotyledons in just over 48 hours. Maybe that quick seedling will be the male I am hoping for. We shall see.

I will begin to regularly update this thread as often as I can as it a means for me to keep track of my own progress as well as show anyone who is interested the growth cycle with complete transparency. I will continue to use the original Greenleaf Nutrient line I have been using (MC, SC, and BE) and CaliMagic from GH, along with RO water.

That's all for today, welcome to 2019. Now it's time to watch some football.

HAPPY NEW YEAR
I'm a huge fan of the wc. Best meph strain I have grown so far. I've only ran 3 though

Good Afternoon. We have liftoff for this round of seeds. So we will call today (1/2/2019) Day 1 for all 8 of them. They all have emerged, some of them look worse then the others. But I expect them to shake off the crinkled/mutated leafs and grow up to be fine plants. Or at least I am hoping. A couple of items to note. The Stone Dragon have been the most vigorous from seed to date as the tap root was so far out of the RR cube I didn't dare wait another couple of hours for fear of stalling that vigor. The Stone Dragons each had a cotyledon that was a bit mangled as well, talk about uniformity! The Sour Hound is still a bit of unsure thing as she had trouble shedding her shell. This is the 2nd time this particular seed batch has done that to me. I was a bit more careful this time, and I didn't decapitate her while trying to help. I also waited for her to reach a bit for the light while wetting the shell quite often. I think those changes may make the difference in her surviving to adulthood. So all RR cubes were up-potted, the (4) RR cubes for the SD went to their final pot (1 Gallon). The RR cubes with the Mephisto genetics went to 20 ounces solo cups before they go to their final pots this weekend or early next week. I forgot to grab additional soil so this interim step was necessary as the tap roots were looking to find some nutrients/water outside of the RR cube. Thats it for today. Have a good Wednesday!

Day 7 - First grow of 2019

Good morning, it has been a week since I have updated this thread with the new seedlings report. Not much to see, but in the last two days they have been moved to their final flowering pots. As I mentioned before, 1 gallon airpots for the Stone Dragons in the new(-ish) breeding cabinet and 3 gallon airpots for the Mephisto seedlings. The Stone Dragons (Stone seeds from the portal) are very uniform and growing as such. A bit leggy right now, but I think that may be based on the T5 I use for seedlings.

White Crack is the only Mephisto variety that has begun to show roots in the cutout of the solo cup I made to allow the roots to escape the solo cup into the airpot. Sour Hound still seems runted a bit, but she is making progress and will be given every cahnce to become a contributing member of the Class of 2019. Tomorrow they will receive their first feeding of actual nutes. The solution I just made is 1.5 grams MC and 1.5 grams SC. I have used this before at this stage with other Mephisto grows to great success, so why change what has worked? A few pictures...

Today, the four plants that were harvested in December are at least 5 weeks old in jars and have RH% below 63%. So I decided to do a final weigh since the previous weight (coming from bags going into jars) the buds were still wet; these are the (final) true dry weights.

Gold Glue - 137 grams
Grape Walker Kush - 128 grams
Blue Toof Special - 94 grams
Strawberry Nuggets - 97 grams

Over 1 pound of bud! And I have been sampling like crazy the last several weeks. :smoking:

With @BigSm0 statement that all autocobs bought during BF2017 were of the 60 watt variety (not the 55watt variety that I had thought), the new math works out to:

456 grams of dry buds from 4 plants / 240 watts from 4 autocobs = 1.9 grams per watt. Not too shabby if I do say so myself!

Mephisto genetics, Cobshop autocobs, and Greenleaf nutrients make an average grower look great! Thanks!
