Seed Stockers Seedstockers Gelato 41 4/20 Solo Cup Challenge 2021 - By NiceNEasy - Gelato 3 Ways.

Day 1.

Glad I put my seeds in to soak a few days ago, as we have first action on 4/20 to celebrate. 2 seeds up, and 1 waiting, but we are well within acceptable ranges still.

First plant in the solo cup. This is the Soil version. I'll pot the first Hempy tomorrow once it gets up proper.

Day 5 or 6.

We have the soil plant to begin. Everything going nicely.

Then we have the first Hempy, looking quite a bit smaller but still ok.

And then the one that was damaged.

I have only been using 1/4 nutes on the Hempies, but will probably up that shortly to a 1/2.

Day 7.

So far the fancy soil is doing well, while the Hempies are struggling a little. This is probably more to do with root action than anything else, so not too bothered at the moment, but definitely upping the feed on the Hempies next go. I don't want to micro-manage them too much, just let it happen. :hookah:

Day 10.

I have a little shift-about in the tent, and put things in the final places.

Soil plant, going well, even if a little overwatered looking.

full

I took the little plant with the issues and am going to use it for the tent plant with the solar water pump.

Here's a little demo.

Here is the full lineup. Normal Hempy closest, then pump Hempy, then Soil plant. Thinking about it, I'm probably going to change things about again, but that's for next time.

I've also put a new 250w bulb in today.

Day 14.

Soil plant is storming ahead. At the moment it will be the entrant, but there is still a couple of weeks to go & much to happen.

I may have to rethink my Hempy strategy, but both plants still looking good - if a little small.

@St. Tom tagging you in bud

Day 16.

The colder UK weather seems to be affecting the plants more than I expected.

I came in today & they were all drooping, and in the breeze of the fan it was 16 degrees - poor things. I have sorted the temp issue now. Hope I have not damaged anything too much. Update pics tomorrow.

Day 17.

My internal tent fans have been off all night, and this has brought the temps up to about 25 degrees for the moment. All the plants seem to be reacting well to the change in the climate. This is something I'm going to have to watch out for in future grows.

I think that Version 1 of the auto-hempy is not going to work, and that the pump input hole needs to be a lot lower in the pot. The plant is not complaining yet, but I think it's in the post. I have turned off the pump for the moment while I think of a revised design.

Here is the regular Hempy. Currently, the best-looking plant of the three, barring a couple of what I think are a couple of nute drip marks.

Are the soil-based one. The leaves are still drooping a little, but much better looking than it was yesterday.

Day 21.

It has been a week of ups and downs, but we are still positive & moving forward. I have removed the pump facility from Hempy 1, as it was too much for the plant. I think I know where to change it to make it better, but that will be for next time.

Temps are back in the right zone, but the soil plant is still struggling to regain its footing.
