Hi all

Things haven't been bad this last week and I suppose its like watching paint dry.

The gelato 41 is 2wk today and im wondering what people's thoughts are on her appearance as ive never done auto before

I find her fan leaves are drying like lettuce and crinkled a bit. Temp is 27/28c lights on 20/4 humidity around 70% Lights off temps around 23ish humidity abiut the same

Ice also moved the panty punch into a 8L pot and she's also on water only method using biotab. I did give the gelato41 a spray of boom boom yesterday and dont even know if it needed it lol

Also thinking if topping the gelato41 as height is restricted so I read that needs done before day 20 at node 5 . Any thoughts on that

Hey all a little update.

The gelato 41 was topped around day 18 and she's on day 22 now, she's coming on really well and I've started some LST as she was getting stretchy with space of 2" or more between nodes.

I'm not sure what the stretch phase is in autos and if it finishes within a set time frame? Anyone want to advise on that I'll appreciate it.

Although I've topped her inhavent cut any fan leaves off her and ive a couple that don't look well but they're monsters with thick stems so not sure kn thst idea so advice appreciated wirh cutting them off or not.

The panty punch whose day 16 is coming on and I've not topped her and she's alot smaller as ive lifted her up closer to the light to shorten the space of nodes and its done pretty well and I think im node 6 now so could top her

She's only in 8L so I need to bear thst in mind when trying to compare both plants albeit 1wk between the 2

The one thing I like about these 2 plants is the fat indica leaves

Growing autos and photos in 2 separate tents wasn't something I ever planned to do but I have and I've upgraded that tent with a ac infinity 4" and its perfect. Not even set at speed 2 and ive negative pressure and I also got a tube heater instead of the oil radiator so my temps of 27c and 50% humidty seem pretty balanced throughout the day instead of up down up down up down up.

Hi all

Can't believe how time is passing and I'm week 7 of the gelato41 and week 6 of the panty punch.

The panty punch wasn't topped so she's getting a big cola and truth be told she's probably the best looking plant that hasn't got any deficiency.

The gelato is starting to get bigger buds by the day and all on water only but I have been giving some compost tea left overs from the photoperiods im feeding

Temps aroumd 28c 52%humidy lights 20/4

Hi all, well here we are another week closer to harvest.

Tomorrow will be week 8 for the gelato41 and week 7 fir the panty punch, as with my photoperiods I've been giving these 2 a boost with compost tea and plain water in between with no ph down.

I think with the colouring of my gelato41 it won't be much longer and some leaves are just falling off, what I have noticed though is the bud formation is so much different than the photoperiods, these I find are slightly bigger but no where near as dense as the others, research tells me autos seem to be more airy than photos but either way I think im going to have some banging smoke and its no bad for the 1st attempt at autos.

I've so many other strains to try and look forward to choosing what to grow next.

Hi folks well this is me in week 9 now of the gelato41 and week 8 for the panty punch.

I'm loving the new way to take photos, it's surprising what a piece of Black cardboard can do to enhance a pic

The panty punch are the ones with browning pistils and the gelato more cone shaped

You heard the saying watching paint dry!

This is exactly how it feels just now waiting on the autos finishing.

I've checked the trichome and my preference is Amber but im no getting them just now but lots of milky one so shouldn't be much longer get and checking every 2 or 3 days.

I think k the panty punch might be another 2 to 3wk at least before she's finished.

Hi all

Well another week has passed and it's now at that stage I haven't a clue if these are ready of not lol

Gelato41 I'd on day 74 and the panty punch is on day 67, guidance is panty punch usually takes around 12wk so I reckon another 10 days for her but being a novice I don't really much when it comes to harvest time.

I've got a led scope for my phone and it's lile looking for a needle in the haystack for coloured trichomes then there's growers who never look snd always go on appearance.

One thing I've learnt though is never be to quick to chop and its only yourself who can decide when the time is right

Oh and check my clone out in the overhead shot, she's now back in full veg spitting 7 leafs

Well im pleases to report I've harvested my gelato41.

I stopped watering her nearly 10 days ago and bizarrely she's been drying in her pot which I've never ever happen before, all other 4 plants are still in 72hr darkness but after 48hrs I decided to take gelato41 out and there's absoloutely no point hanging a dry plant to dry

I trimmed what I could off her and pushed a few buds right through the trim bin and overall I got 36g of dry smokable bud

3g of pollin from the trim bin and smoked a few joints over the last 4 days dithering about her

I'll call it 40g and with her being an auto and doing next to nothing in such a short space I can live with that.

I'll come back with the panty punch report when I dry her out but here's some pics of today

Hi all, another exciting bank holiday is here in the UK and the panty punch is exploding in scents and is now drying.


I'm really impressed with her and I actually think I've 2x more than I have with the photoperiod so if this is an example of growing Autos then I'll still with them for another couple of runs and do some comparisons, but I've still to do a dry weight for both of the panty punch.


Can't help scribbling in the dust I got from the trim bin and I uploaded a daylight video so you can all see her lovely colour
