New Grower Seed to soil germination method: 1st grow in many years

So.. i have 2 fastbuds lsd 25 seeds that I planted directly into the soil, this was late Saturday night 7/16, Today is 7/18 and theres no sign of sprout. My temperature is steady around 79f and 60% humidity. I'm making sure the soil is moist but not flooded, basically I'm just looking for people with actual experiences germinating in soil, and what the average time usually is before it actually sprouts. I'm also leaving the tent in complete darkness should I put the light on? I'm thinking my 200w led would be overkill to leave on, and also would dry the soil quickly that's my reasoning anyway.. sorry for the long read and thanks in advance! I am not being impatient however I just like to reassure myself everything will be ok

I know a few people that have tried to germinate cannabis seeds in soil but didnt have much success. most people do the paper towel method, my method is far easier though!
Take a coffee cup or any solid cup, fill it half way with Room temperature water and put your seeds in it. Cover it up with tin foil to keep it dark and put it under the bathroom sink, in two-three days you will have a 1 inch root

Sounds good pureblaze420 if things go wrong I will definitely consider that.. only thing I would be concerned about is getting my clumsy fat fingers all over the root. Lol.. you just snatched it right out of the water or pour it into its hole?

Little update today, I did a little digging to see if things were ok. And both are confirmed to have a big root poking out.. they should be above soil any day now I would think. On a side note I'm using 2 gallon root trapper II pots which are basically just a fabric pot, anyone else growing in 2 gallons and getting decent results? Also I'm using tap water on this whole grow, it comes out a bit high ph of almost 8 so I will be using ph down.. keeping my water ph in the 6.2 6.9 range. Which is all I plan to use throughout the whole grow.

Yeah, I killed two seeds this week because I messed up their tap roots when transplanting.

You should try using pellets then just placing them with the sprout into the soil.

For anyone that will be interested in this grow it will be all organic. I'm using happy frog and kind soil. I also mixed some azomite and oyster shell flour in with the happy frog as well as about 20-30% perlite.. I plan on using nothing more unless really bad deficiencies appear hopefully not..(kind soil is organic, isn't it? Lol) I have (2) 2 gallon root trapper II pots in a 2x2x5 tent so this should be real interesting to say the least.. I've seen how big some of theye other lsd plants get....

I have seen some autos get very hungry in just organic soil without fed or teas in flower as the nutrients in the soil get used up I would get some biobizz nutes as there 100% organic and will really boost ure plants I have a few grows in my signature you could check out as I grew in a 2+2+5 tent with biobizz soil and nutes.
On germination yeah it's rather soon for just dropped in soil on average one week to sprout this way. I drop my bean in a glass of water for 6_8 hr then in damp towel until taproot appears then into jiffy cubes I have never failed this way thanks for the tag @witchyhour I hope this helps peace ✌

Alot of people use two gallon pots with great results I could be wrong but I'm sure @TaNg use 2 gallon Airpots with amazing results I would highly recommend u check his grows out peace ✌

I used the clingfilm method :
3 gallon or 5 gallon pot
Fill it with potting soil
Water it well and leave in sun or heat for two days
Sow the seed
Cover with clingfilm
Leave it to sprout
When you see seedling take clingfilm off
Works so well for autos [emoji108] [emoji108] [emoji108]
