New Grower Seed to soil germination method: 1st grow in many years

So.. i have 2 fastbuds lsd 25 seeds that I planted directly into the soil, this was late Saturday night 7/16, Today is 7/18 and theres no sign of sprout. My temperature is steady around 79f and 60% humidity. I'm making sure the soil is moist but not flooded, basically I'm just looking for people with actual experiences germinating in soil, and what the average time usually is before it actually sprouts. I'm also leaving the tent in complete darkness should I put the light on? I'm thinking my 200w led would be overkill to leave on, and also would dry the soil quickly that's my reasoning anyway.. sorry for the long read and thanks in advance! I am not being impatient however I just like to reassure myself everything will be ok

germination on soil can take up to 15 days to sprout. next time try to use the paper towels it take less time

I would advise, more so suggest that you check back in two more days, and go ahead and switch the lights on. A pro will chime in shortly and correct me if I am wrong or offer other advice.

I did seed directly to soil, switched in lights and in 4 days it was above soil.

I have a 100% germ rate ....... Out of my 9 or 10 seeds I have delt with haha

What I done was soaked the soil left it under the light for at least 24 hours, to let it dry out and not be too wet for the seed, when I think it's ready make a small hole with my pinky drop the seed in lightly cover with solil then cover the pot with cling film and wait so far I don't think i have waited more than 3 days by doing this.

There are many ways to do this I seen this method seems simple and hasn't failed me yet.

First time round was all fast buds GSC, six shooter, west coast og and black berry I'm sure I put them in on a Friday Sunday came six shooter was up Monday morning the rest were there.

I know.. my previous grows I used the paper towel method and they worked fine 100%.. figured I'd be as natural as I can this time around after all, there are no paper towels in mother nature lol.. cannabis is a very rigorous and resilient plant so I don't doubt they will eventually sprout. But yes the reassurance of sprouting in a paper towel is why many growers do it this way. Nothing like checking on them and seeing a big ass tail sprout... shit maybe I'm regretting this a little bit? lol

Cool, I haven't did the plastic wrap thing maybe I'll try that.. would tin foil work the same I don't thing I have plastic wrap in hand, makes sense and would help keeping the humidity up. My lights are of course, I'm not that bad lmao

It'll sprout in the dark just fine, soon as it pops its head turn your photon slinger on.

Don't know about tin foil, Mostly anything clear plastic I think cling film plastic cups bottles cut in half etc

For anyone that will be interested in this grow it will be all organic. I'm using happy frog and kind soil. I also mixed some azomite and oyster shell flour in with the happy frog as well as about 20-30% perlite.. I plan on using nothing more unless really bad deficiencies appear hopefully not..(kind soil is organic, isn't it? Lol) I have (2) 2 gallon root trapper II pots in a 2x2x5 tent so this should be real interesting to say the least.. I've seen how big some of theye other lsd plants get....
