Seed Stockers Seed Stockers Sampler

Hmm...just noticed some curling on the PP, but just on the odd single leaf here or there. Any ideas? Spotty N-def? The runoff was a bit high of the 3 at 700ppm. Maybe lower the next feed and increase volume a bit?

Climate related? Tent is daytime 24C/50-60% and night 18C/60-70%.

Darker green leaves with the curling can be a sign of too much N, but as WildBill said too things look good just keep an eye on them and watch the runoff, that could be causing it if your nutes are accumulating.

Gotcha, thanks guys. I think I’ll go the route I mentioned and slightly lower the nute strength and increase the volume to clear a bit more of the accumulation. Should be feeding tonight so will post an update tomorrow maybe.

Doesn’t seem like any progression to that leaf curling, but I did end up lowering the feed.
Each pot got 6L with 3.5G/gal (550ppm) MC at 6.1pH. Runoffs all were a touch high but in a reasonable range of 575-650ppm. Ph were all in range at 6.1-6.2

I did a bit of trimming of the bottom bud sites that are basically getting no light.
But, I’ve noticed A new potential problem though when I fed. In the trays of the BCN and SLH I saw a bunch of little black bugs as well as when I was watering them overtop a draintub they were falling off the bottom of the pots. Pic below

They jump around so I’m wondering if they are spring tails? I tapped the pots to get as much of them off as possible and cleaned each of the trays. I also put some sticky traps in the pots but haven’t seen anything on them yet.
Is this a concern and anything more that I should be doing?

They sound like springtails, but can you get a close up pic? I used to have one but deleted a whack of pics. I find them harmless, they scavenge on dead plant material, I got them in my grow too at least in the hydro part of it, and they don't seem to hurt anything. Other than I'd rather not have bugs in my grow room...

Adding, do you have the pots elevated above the trays? If they are sitting in the water it could cause a potential issue. Either way, dump the water out and clean the trays often and you should get rid of them... In assuming of course they are springtails.

@RivetGrrl the pots sit in the plastic tray with no airholes or gaps below. I take the plants out to water over top of a tub and let them drip for a while before putting them back in the tray so they don’t sit in a puddle.
I do have some stands that I could probably put under them in the tray to help with this.

I’ll see about adding it tonight and see about a close up picture at the same time.

@Mañ'O'Green ...whack ‘em?

I’ve been keeping an eye on those bugs and cleaning the trays after each feed. I have them on some stands in the trays too which seems to be reducing the numbers. Doesn’t seem to be an issue so I’ll keep that up.

Still some minor stretching going on with the BCN and SLH but slowing down for sure. BCN still looks a bit sickly and some spots are a bit worse but that may be just continuing from before. There have been some yellowing and falling off leaves at the bottom so maybe it’s asking for higher strength?
The PP is developing more spots like a Cal-def and is generally yellowing a bit more as time progresses.
The SLH is cruising along nicely with it mostly healthy looking so I’m happy about that.

The last feed a few days ago was about 3.5G/gal MC and I added 0.25g/gal BE for a total of 585ppm, 6.3pH. All the runoffs ranged from 565-615ppm and 6.1-6.2pH.
But I’m at the point where I’m pretty frustrated at trying to dial in this 1-part MC. Sure they are growing and I’m sure the buds will produce reasonably but something just isn’t clicking to have a healthy plant consistently. I have some of the Fox Farms trio which was the first nutrient I tried when starting out and might give that another shot. My other aspects of growing like proper watering and environment weren’t as good back then so maybe it’ll go better this time around. I just started a batch of sweet seeds that have popped and will probably use it on them.
I’m also considering ordering some of the 2-part though I wish they were doing free samples like they did with the 1-part.
