New Grower Second Timer - DP Auto Night Queen In DWC

i just had to order something to bump up my temps a couple of degrees too. i just went with a 4ft 180w tube heater, i'd have gone for an oil filled, but my cupboard is lacking on floor space.

the girls look fantastic for day 7! :clapper:

A lot of people do not understand Relative Humidity. The heater is not lowering humidity it is warming the air which can now hold more water. The same amount of water is still there but the Relative Humidity goes down because that amount of water is a smaller percentage of what the air can hold. I know it is a fine point but when you start using VPD understanding it becomes more important.

An oil filled heater has slower heat radiation in the space and is less likely to cause temperature oscillation. It is also a lot safer in a small space.

As long as it has a thermostat it will only use the wattage needed. If it is under-powered you waste money and have to buy another one.

If you only need a couple of degrees maybe just throwing a blanket over the top and a piece of ridged insulation under the tent to get it off the concrete will give you what you need?

Excellent information, MoG. Thanks man.

i think I have two different phenos of Auto Night Queens going. The slower one is more sensitive to the light height and is showing it by curling its leaves. I have raised the lights by four inches to remedy the situation. The quicker plant looks good, and should be okay with lights being higher. If it stretches a bit, that will be okay, as I know how to handle height issues now.

I ordered my inkbird controller and small ceramic space heater. $55 total. This will allow me to maintain an optimal growing temp range of between 68-78 degrees, something that I could only dream about in the summer. In the meantime I have increased light schedule to 24 hours, but will adjust down when I have my heater setup.

Ppms and ph steady at 500 ppms and 5.9 respectively. Humidity is maintained at 60% with the humidifier, once I get the heating setup, I will have no problem managing optimal temps and humidity through the fall and winter.

Apart from the leaf curl on the one plant, which I am sure is due to the light height. They are doing well

They sure are doing well! Your girls are growing up so fast! Where does the time go?

:pighug:

The plants are doing pretty well, in my opinion. I topped/pinched each at the fourth node. I know it's kind of early, but they are growing vigorously, and it is the fourth node, after all. Raising the lights helped the slower plant with the leaf curl.

The inkbird temp control and small heater will be delivered today. The plants will appreciate it, as I saw where the temps in the cabinet dropped to 62 degrees in the early morning. I want to keep above 68 degrees, which shouldn't require a whole lot in my small enclosed space. With that and my humidifier, I am pretty confident that I will be able to manager temps and humidity throughout this grow, and see what DP genetics can do.

By the way, I received my Mephisto seeds! Only five days from order to delivery, including a weekend! And I received three times the seeds I ordered free. I ma already looking forward to my next run. Just will continue to watch @KREATURE @Froot n Fuel and @Hypathetical Gardener current grows to help me decide which strain to go with first!

Picture perfect babies! What strains did you get from Mephisto?

Thanks DG! Well, I bought CDLC, Sour Livers, Strawberry Nugs, and Sweet N Sour, and received a lot of freebies. The most interesting one being Toof Decay - Special Pheno. CDLC and Sour Livers are in the lead for the next grow. They are looking tasty in the journals I mentioned.

How are your girls doing? Did you get your seeds from the last order, and what are you running next?
