Hey All,

First time poster --

I will tell you a little bit about myself. I'm an organic chemist by training and I am now involved in neuropharmacology research. I haven't really grown or taken care of plants in my life and COVID-19 unfortunately meant I couldn't spend time in my lab. So I started growing weed in the basement..

I read a lot and I had @GrowingHigher providing feedback as I went. My first grow went pretty well and i harvested around 1 lbs dry! It was awesome : D

My second try was focused on getting an autopot system and using an all coco grow. There are some ALF#5 along for the ride, but they aren't the focus as it seems like there are other grow reports around.

Tent = 5x5
Vent = 8 inch AC infinity
Light = 1000W HPS, plus 4x autocobs in the corners
Medium = Coco/perlite 9:1 in fabric pots
Nutes = autopots, with megacrop and bud explosion, in addition to mammoth P every few weeks (MC:BE ratios changed through the grow from 4:0 -> 2:1 (g/gallon)

Seeds were provided from a friend @GrowingHigher -- they are S3 autoline with blue dream, blue cheese, lowryder and skunk #1.

I will post the first 55 days below..

I started all of them (5x) in a combination of solo cups and various small empty pots i found (100% coco, soaked through with megacrop/mammothP/rhizotonic solution (2g per gallon/ 1 mL per gallon/ 1 mL).

Some early pics (oct 9/10), the seeds were soaked overnight in water starting Oct 3rd. We can call these pictures day 4-5.

Oct 20 (day 15): Nice leaf pattern. I'm told this is genetic.

oct 23 (day 18): S3 line are the three pots in the middle with perlite on top and the pot with perlite on the top left. The others are alf#5.

Oct 29 (Day 24) All of them are on the autopots now. The res has 4g/gal of megacrop (the version that has little beads in it) started some training but moving the branches out a bit from the main stems with soft ties. I also clipped off inner fans to improve airflow. At times I removed fans that I felt blocked light to lower bud sites.

Nov 6th (Day 32) I Had topped one of them around day 28, but the others were left intact.

Nov23rd (day 49): They are starting to stack on the bud.

Nov 25th day 51: Beginning to observe frost and trichomes on sugar leaves and buds. Buds feel very dense, resinous and sticky.

Nov 27th (day 53) The whole tent.. two in the front right are ALF#5 and the very back is also alf#5. The rest are NBS S3

Bonus: I harvested on the NBS S3 plants that I had topped at day 57 after trimming and stem removal it was about 250g wet. Trichomes were all cloudy and it appeared that bud growth had slowed to a crawl.

With and without flash. Wet trimmed for about 5 mins, there were little to no fans on the buds.

i chopped them both down -- 65 days. They had some amber and cloudy trichomes and my other tents were gettting full. There was 1 kg wet weight from two plants (with the fabric bag i hung the broken down bugs in).
