New Grower Second grow : Mephisto's Strawberry Stomper & Pinot Noir

Yes my PH pen is calibrated, I usually feed at a PH of 6 or 6.1. Starting water EC is 0.1, so I might just be overfeeding yes. Do you recommend going half the strength then on the feed, say 0.8EC?

Thank you as always!
Yes do the flush and just continue to feed at 50% strength. Then if they start to lighten up in color increase by 10%.

New update to both my babies!

Pinot Noir is going strong, thanks to @Mañ'O'Green the brown spotting stopped on the newer leaves so it was def an excess of nutrient.
I dropped her feed to 0.8EC, tap water is 0.1EC and I measured runoff to a PH of 5.9 and EC of 0.8 so everything looks good! Her leaves are starting to either fade or they are being used up for nitrogen? The yellowing is starting at the tip of the leaves and going to the base, so does it indicate that shes just using up the nitrogen and its not related to a deficiency? Still trying to figure that out.

Strawberry Stomper, now this one is weird. I never topped or LST her but all her colas are on the same level naturally? Lol. Also she seems like she has a very bad lockout or deficiency but she is actually not getting worse, it was like that from a while ago. It also seems like I have a purple phenotype since the buds looks purple!

It looks like she needs some micro-nutrients. Kelp, Humic acid. Earth Juice MicroBlast etc.. You can put in the pot anytime you water or fertigate.

Ps nitrogen deficiency starts at the bottom of the plant not the top.

Hi everyone!

Both my babies are doing mostly fine, they will get to the finish line for sure :)

The Strawberry Stomper smells just like Strawberry it is actually insane to me that weed can smell like that!!! So stoked to try and smoke it!
Pinot Noir is making some real progress, all the pistils are turning orange.

Now my question is, when exactly should I start to flush, I know it's about 2 weeks before chop, but in the state that the Pinot Noir is in right now with the pistils all turning orange, should I start the flush right about now?

Take a look at them :

First - your plants look good! Nice work there.

Second, what result to you expect by flushing? I am NOT trying to turn this thread in a flushing vs not debate, but I would look at the multiple posts on this subject and make an independent determination on that issue. IMHO, YMMV, etc.

Hey thanks a lot, they do look awesome yes! :yay:

I believe I read that it's useful to get rid of the extra nutrients in the buds to improve smoke and taste, but that it may be a myth that it is necessary. Seems to me like it's an idea that was thought about in the '70s and just carried on to now on lol.. I think I'm going to flush 2-3 days right before chopping just to clear the nutrients from the Coco but that's it. I'm sure whatever I do that the smoke will be phenomenal! Since it's only my second grow, I'll experiment a bit :smoking:

Like @pop22 has stated, there is no principle in botany, or physics for that matter, that supports the idea that you can push a bunch water by roots and they will utilize it to translocate nutrients out of the plant, especially non-mobile ones. Look at Flushing: The Myth that won't Die | The Autoflower Network for more information. Flushing is a myth - plants just don't work that way. Real science over stoner science. HTH, IMHO, YMMV, etc.

I do not flush. I feed right up to harvest and if you have not added any carbohydrates yet now is the time!

Should be here tomorrow so I will feed her some of it with the nutrient water at the same time!

Edit : Should I also give it to the Strawberry Stomper or only the Pinot?

Plants that are within two weeks of harvest.
