New Grower Second grow : Mephisto's Strawberry Stomper & Pinot Noir

Hey guys and gals!

Quick little update, sorry for not updating as often, I have a pretty busy schedule at work.

Both my girls are in the dark for 48 hours now, I wanted to try after watching a couple of scientific studies that showed a little benefit in doing so and because why not? lol

Here they are right before the dark period :

Pinot noir was showing 15% amber and the Strawberry Stomper was mostly cloudy trichomes.
I wanted one strain to be more of a body high and the other one more of a head high so that's perfect for me!

@Mañ'O'Green My question to you good sir is now that they are in the dark, the temp in the tent dropped from 75 to 60. The temp in my room is 68F but in the tent it stays at 60F all the time. I can't really lower the exhaust fan also because otherwise the humidity gets too high.. Is 60F too low and will it do any damage? I'd prefer to be at 68-70F but it does not wants to go up

Cheers AFN, I'll come back with dry weight when the drying is done in a week or so! :pass:

dark time helpz bring out the terpz :thumbsup: and ya, 60f is fine...if anything, it may help bring out some blue/purple accentz ;) jus make sure there'z ambient airflow & ur good to go :thumbsup: ppp

Thanks for the rep 420! Also, thanks for the clarification, I saw on a couple of posts that people were saying not to go below 62F so I was getting worried a bit, but I'm happy that it's in range! I'm guessing the Strawberry stomper will have an accentuated purple color then! Can't wait :woohoo:

Your done so the only issue you want to watch out for is botrytis - bud rot- It loves cool damp. I personally would not risk it.

I'm at 62F and 62% humidity right now.. Is that risking it too much? The humidity in the room is at 40%.. I don't get why it's so high in the tent, the exhaust is creating a lot of negative pressure

IMPO yes!
 
Ok the dew-point for 62°F at 62% RH is 49 so the risk is low. The problem is I have got bud rot under those conditions so I am very leery. I do not believe dark does anything because the tests are so subjective.

I just figured that my AC Infinity Humidity probe was wayyyy off. I placed two other humidity probe in the tent and both read 45% humidity, but the AC infinity probe reads 65%... I found a way to calibrate it but I can only deduct 8% from what's showing.. really not happy with the probe from the AC Infinity fan, it's off by 5% now so it got better with the calibration.. but I still need to deduct 5% from what's showing on it..

Also thanks for the clarification with the dew-point, I was not aware that was a thing!

To be honest, it really sucks for the probe, all that time I thought it was calibrated correctly from the get-go so I was always off by more than 10-15% humidity during the grow
 
Almost final update, they are drying right now, the tent is packed!!! :drool:

The difference in structure between both strain was insane this round!

Can anyone guess the dry yield? :vibe:

Soooooo... Final verdict..

270g total!!!! :woohoo:

Super happy with the harvest, it goes like this for the yield :

Pinot Noir : 200g
Strawberry Stomper : 70g

Here are some pics of the harvest and some good looking buds :)
Pinot Noir is showing 170g here but I forgot 2 full jars to weight lol

They are drying right now, humidity in the jars goes from 64 to 69, so they are still a bit wet but I'm bringing it down slowly to the 60-65 range:vibe:
