Mephisto Genetics Scribble’s ambitions: A plethora of plants

My skywalker started doing the same thing around the same age. At first I thought PH swing but I also have a forgotten cookies which sits in soil that came out of the same bag and they shared the same feed water. I’ve begun to suspect she’s a calmag hog and the COBs aren’t helping.

Thanks for sharing. I’ll have to dress in extra cal mag for skywalker.

Day 31 for most, day 26 (I think) for double grape, but she didn’t get the memo. She’s trying to catch up to her cousins! She’s middle left in the group shots.

Just got back from a week vacation. My caretaker did a great job of keeping them watered.

Top dressed alfalfa meal, insect frass, cal mag, worm castings, and high P bat guano. Mixed with some supersoil and threw it in the pot and watered well. Hope the nitrogen from the ewc, frass, and alfalfa don’t cause the flowering plants any problems. I’m just thrilled they’re not dead yet, so why not try some new stuff?

My caretaker did not do any defoliation or training. They didn’t feel comfortable doing it, so I had to make up for it today. The plants look a little angry. Had to trim the bottoms, semi lollipop. Going to keep trimming up for the bushier girls but don’t want to do it all at once so they don’t stress out. Also removed some of the bigger fan leaves blocking bud sites.

From top left to top right: skywalker, samsquanch, Orange D.
Middle left to mid right: double grape, cdlc, forum stomper
Bottom left to right: 24c, strawberry nuggets

Skywalker. Tallest plant so far. Vigorous and stretchy. I will probably be running this strain again.

Samsquanch. A little tip burn, but she’s doing well. I hope the top dressing doesn’t overfeed her. Guess we’ll see.

Orange Diesel. I broke one of the upper branches when I dropped my fan on her. She bounced right back.

Forum stomper. She’s not terribly happy after training and defoliation.

Cdlc not excited either... still what a comeback.

Double Grape. Happy clam.

24 carat in a hurry to finish. I told her to chill, but she won’t listen.

Strawberry nuggets. Such a leafy, matted mess. I have not enjoyed her structure at all. I had to pluck a dozen or so massive fan leaves and bend her branches down. She’s pissed...

Day 35 (30 for DG)

No significant changes, since last update. Everyone looks happy but with some tip burn. It looks like the top dressing wasn’t too heavy. I will be adding more cal mag + high P guano around day 40. Probably this weekend. I am using mammoth p and recharge as well.

Some lower fan leaves are curling and crispy.

All the leaves are praying except the strawberry nuggets and cdlc.

Skywalker stacking up, trying to be the belle of the ball.

Samsquanch seems to have stopped growing vertically. I may defoliate her a bit more around the meristem.

Orange Diesel a bit nute burned after the dressing. She’s been robust.

Forum stomper lagging behind in the maturity department. She will be getting a trim soon too.

Creme de la Chem with the broad leaves. Overall pretty happy.

Double Grape, 5 days younger than her cousins but she’s the 2nd tallest. I wish my other bean didn’t dampen off. I’m really excited to try her.

24 carat short and sassy. Densest nugs of them all, she appears to be in a hurry still. I think she’s going to harvested at least a week earlier than her kin. Couple of orange pistils already.

Strawberry nuggets.... idunno what to say. Still not pleased with the structure. Very leafy and stocky which makes for a matted mess. I’ll have to trim her back again.

Strawberry nuggets has got some monster leaves, and lots of them. A little defoliation may be in order. Watching closely since I just dropped a SN about a week ago. Good luck.

We started just removing a few big fans at a time from our SN’s, from 2-3 weeks to encourage them to bush out, then around 4 weeks we put several stakes around the pots and tied branches to them to spread her out, at that point she’ll stretch a little more and then be full on flowering, she takes it like a champ!

Thanks @mephisto , just the kind guidance I was hoping to get.

So i’d Remove just the newest fans at the top when they’re size able enough to be blocking anything underneath, the lower fans you can tuck. You kind of have to play it by ear, there’s essentially about three phenos we’ve found (discounting colour in flower etc) one grows extra squat and thick, a medium that takes a little encouragement and then there’s a bigger girl that spreads and stretches more where you’ll only need to lightly leaftuck to see major dividends in return.

The light training we’ve employed with ours often means that the branches soon overshadow and out do the ‘main cola’

I am starting to notice, haha!

Thanks for the info, I’ll be plucking them soon.

It looks like I got the short and squat. Her meristem is indeed shorter than the branches.

Great bit of advice from the breeder thanks. @Scribble420 girls r looking great.
Thanks!
